So...what do you think the Scroll rep will be used for AFTER the plot ?? I mean, the Lost Desert's got a book store already and you'd hope they wouldn't force us to do that much just for a slow as <insert slow object here> plot...

The PS2 game is scheduled to be released on the 25th of November.

I just can't help but think that the next part will include Maraqua... or Kelp more specificly... I've never remembreed it to be open this long...

And maybe the crystals were meant to go to the Fortune Teller...

Has there been this long of a break before? I can't help but wonder if we're missing something. Of course, I have no idea what that something might be, as everything I can think of has been tried multiple times. I guess we just have to wait and see. If, indeed, we are missing something, TNT will have to give us a nudge in the right direction soon (like they did during the Mystery Island plot) if they want to get this thing wrapped up on schedule. The Darkest Faerie plot will be starting pretty soon, and they can't push that one back because they have the video game release already scheduled.

As this is my first plot I'm somewhat confused as to the role that the TCG cards may play. Were these cards part of previous plots? Can someone give an example of how they may be used?

Well, the TCGs haven't been around for all the plots. The ones I remember having TCGs were the ones that had comics. Usually, they hint at the story line and offer a sneak peek at the artwork of the comic - sort of semi-spoilers. For an example of how a TCG deck was related to a previous plot, Curse of Maraqua comes to mind. The TCG is here. As a specific example, you could tell that there would be a new Maraqua by the flavor text on Isca's TCG, "Isca was among the thousands travelling to New Maraqua to seek a new life." They choose phrases for the cards that that will create interest in the plot, and are particularly good at choosing those that will trigger some creative speculation, but are very careful not to give too much away.

In this plot, several of the images from the TCG cards have been in the comic. I don't remember that happening before, but I wasn't paying as much attention to the other plots as they weren't "mystery" plots. We have also seen the cards' subjects and images in places other than the comic (ie. Temple of 1000 Tombs and its traps.)

So, as Sky answered earlier, we use this information to speculate about what will happen next, both in the comic and with the other aspects of the plot. We can also use it to gain a little better understanding of what has happened. As an example of both, see my post on page 3 of this split.

Well, there are usually release dates since they correspond with real world merchandise. A new expansion will be announced in the news with an expected date that it will come out. Close to that date, cards lists will be found on wizards.com and other trading card sites. After they are officially released, Neopets will put up a checklist under their trading cards section here. All cards from that expansion are released at once and then it's a wait until the next set comes out for more and the cycle repeats. (They've been a couple months apart, so far.)

Adding to this and supRNurs: the recent have been plot related. The long down time between releases could be due to the failure to get the Sloth plot going during the last Hannah plot. With this plot and, most likely, the next one, the TCG was/will be released in tandom with the plot. That makes good sense. That way we don't have to rush to card shops while working on a plot or war. (Besides, most other CCGs & TCGs have a couple month release gap). Hopefully, all future plots will have this deal with very few 'fluff' releases like the Mystery Island set.

Sorry 'bout more TCG action, but I do have a couple LD related comments, if not plot related. 1) Did the LD ever do a trick or treat thing? 2) Sorry for getting hopes up for new, plot-related colors (okay, only supRNurs responded to that). Maybe just a restructuring of current LD colors would be fun. (Although a sand pet would be totally awesome )

Great to be back after getting a direct hit from Hurricane Wilma. Still no power at home though...I believe the plot has been delayed until all electricity is restored to South Florida MUAHAHAHAHA. I was really glad to find out that nothing has happened since the hurricane in regards to the plot!

Maybe buttwig is on to something........... Maybe TNT is waiting for those affected by the hurricanes to be able to return and be involved in the plot!
