Sorry my ratings are so short this time! Yet again, we had some nice subtexts and some rather boring ones. Remember, I want originality. Also, I was rather disappointed nobody picked up on the army of furbies in the background of the sig. Regardless, on with the ratings!

.:Compact Disk:.
Furby! *fade* A Furry Bee? Where?
Hm, I do like the play on words here but the Furby is obviously right there. I don't think there's need for the "Furby!" part as it already reads it as text.

.:Requiem:.
Blue-eyed Beauty
I know you were going for something different to the whole evil thing but it's too... serious for the sig! It doesn't work.

Ammer
Evil is the new cute.
Hm, a little generic but it fits.

Anoohilator
A cute bundle of DOOM!
I like it! It's amusing, it fits well and suits the combined evilness and cuteness of those toys.

Khristian
Cute.....*Fade out**Fade in*Just Met Evil.*Fade out*
Hm, it's okay. Predictable though which is bad. We're sorting out the men from the boys here and this is not as original as half of the subtexts this round.

matterbug
Bri-frightening up your day
I like it! I didn't get it at first if I'm going to be honest but now I do, I feel it's clever and different from the average cute/evil subtext. Nice job.

pattypus
I could be your friend *fade* or I could be your foe
Hmmm well Furby's are always your friend, whether you want them to or not. XD It's nice that you've mentioned the evilness without actually saying evil. Good job.

the_dog_god
Fur me ? *squeal*
Hah, lovely pun there. Made me giggle. I like it.

VeraX
Not your average furry friend.
It's nice, I like it. You've summed up Furby's for me. XD
[/quote]

Eliminate: CD, Khristian and Req.

Sorry! (I hate that part so much!)

Ahh, Furbies. Who could forget that rabid craze of the 90's, where people were paying huge prices for Furbies online, and the government was concerned that a Furby might accidentally hear and repeat state secrets? Of course, anyone who isn't old enough (or not American) is kind of at a disadvantage in this round. Generally, people either loved Furbies or thought they were freaky computer-droids. (I wanted one, while at the same time thought they were creepy. :P ) In any case, I think this round called for either cute or evil, because nothing else could quite capture the idea of the Furby.

Image

.:Compact Disk:.-Furby! *fade* A Furry Bee? Where?

Cute pun. :) I understand the play on words, as well as the idea that a person might not know what a Furby is, but I'm kind of iffy on this one...... I really see the image as more creepy than anything else.

.:Requiem:.-Blue-eyed Beauty

I know you said you don't think this image is a good 'evil' image, and while I disagree I know some people like Furbies. My actual problem is, even if a person does like Furbies, they're more 'cute' than 'beautiful'. The phrase more makes me think of a horse, or an elegant cat or something, than a Furby.

Ammer-Evil is the new cute.

I kind of like this one. It touches on both feelings about Furbies, the one side thinking they're cute, and the other side thinking they're evil. It's not my favorite, since the subtext sounds just a little darker than the actual image looks, but I think it works well.

Anoohilator-A cute bundle of DOOM!

It's okay. As I've said, many people view Furbies as creepy, which is what your subtext says. I just think it's a little too dramatic.

Khristian-Cute.....*Fade out**Fade in*Just Met Evil.*Fade out*

I really like this one. I especially like the fading for this subtext, I think the way it's done would really have an impact. And, like Ammer's, it addresses both the cuteness and the creepiness of a Furby. :P

matterbug-Bri-frightening up your day

I think I know what you're going for, but this statement is so unclear that it's actually a little confusing. The phrase itself also sounds very awkward.

pattypus-I could be your friend *fade* or I could be your foe

It's all right, it fits with the whole 'Furbies are evil' thing, but I'm not sure it matches the actual image that well. I think this is also just a tad too dramatic.

the_dog_god-Fur me ? *squeal*

I like this one. It's a play on the Furby main text, and it's pretty much how a kid would have reacted if they had recieved one of these during the big Furby craze. :P

VeraX-Not your average furry friend.

I think this subtext is just too generic. It could pretty much apply to any furry creature that associates with humans. I know you didn't know what a furby was, but I think even making something more specific to the image would have been better.

My votes go to .:Compact Disk:., .:Requiem:., and matterbug.

Trash my day, how 'bout?

Yeesh, the irony in this is sickening. I went along hating the crap out of my old subtext, and all the predictable ones that followed that same format get good ratings...and I tried to focus on something different in he sig, which the judges usually like, and spent forever trying to phrase it well....and you hate it. That'll teach teach me to try to be creative instead of generic and predictable. -slap- Bad Renn.

I don't think it's necessarily about that Requiem. I don't think the judges would mind if someone focused on the Furby's "cuteness" but you focused on the beauty of the Furby. I honestly do not know where you got the beauty part from; it just doesn't fit.

At least that's my opinion on the matter.

Renn, it's nothing personal honey. It's just that although I like creative and original subtexts, they have to fit the mood of the sig.

When I used to do these things, I usually went on my first instinct and then changed the wording slightly to make it more creative.

Judges Notes:
I liked this round, it showed us who could be creative, think outside the box. This was also the hardest round yet for choosing people to eliminate. Before I posted this, I changed one name a few times, and I still don’t know if I made the right choice. After this round, we will have only two more, so congratulations on making it this far!

.:Compact Disk:.
Furby! *fade* A Furry Bee? Where?
You went for the play on words here, but I don’t think it really worked out. It doesn’t really work on this signature. If the Furby was yellow and black maybe, or if the main colours were yellow and black, then I could see it working, but on this signature, it doesn’t.

.:Requiem:.
Blue-eyed Beauty
I like that you went for something different here, although I am unsure about how I like it. The Furby has blue eyes, and the main colour of the signature is blue, but the ‘Beauty’ part makes me wonder. I wouldn’t really classify Furbies as beautiful, more cute than anything. ‘Blue-eyed Cutey’ I think would have worked much better.

Ammer
Evil is the new cute.
I like this one. It shows the cuteness of the Furbies, and the general attitude towards them. Also, the way the words work together is nice, I like it!

Anoohilator
A cute bundle of DOOM!
This is ok. I don’t really like the ‘DOOM’ part, I think a different word may have been better. It just seems to exaggerated for this signature.

Khristian
Cute.....*Fade out**Fade in*Just Met Evil.*Fade out*
I like this one. What the subtext is saying is very good, and well worded, and the fade is in an excellent spot. Nice work!

matterbug
Bri-frightening up your day
I am really unsure about this one. I get what you are going for, but it just doesn’t sound right. I don’t know whether it is the way you wrote it, or the word ‘frightening’, but it just seems wrong. It is an original idea though, I like that a lot!

pattypus
I could be your friend *fade* or I could be your foe
I don’t really like this one to be honest with you, not that original, and sounds kind of cliché. It just doesn’t sound right. I think it may have been better as ‘I could be your friend *fade* or foe’ or even ‘Friend… *fade* …or foe?’ That sounds better in my opinion.

the_dog_god
Fur me ? *squeal*
I don’t really know about this one. I like the originality, and the play on words, and I like how you went for another angle on it (I assume a child getting the toy). But I don’t think it is that obvious when you first read it, I know it took me a few times.

VeraX
Not your average furry friend.
This is ok, not bad, but not great. It could correspond to a ton of different things, and doesn’t say much about Furby at all.

I nominate CD, pattypus, and Req .

Round Notes: There is a LOT of room on the signature for a subtext. I do not see the need for some fades here and there. I would rather have it in a new line, then leave the signature looking very empty.

Image

.:Compact Disk:. - Furby! *fade* A Furry Bee? Where?
I dont like this one very much, I mean, Furry Bee? It doesn't strike me as very funny or very... well, good. Sorry. Also read round notes, I dont think it applies here as much as it does to some of the other subtexts, as there is a bit of the surprise element in Furry Bee. But still... =\

.:Requiem:. - Blue-eyed Beauty
I personally dont see this as being beautiful. I would use less of my own interpetation if I were you. It would be good if it were a very abstract signature, and once someone read your subtext, they go. "Oh, I never noticed that before." But not for this one. I see this as more cute. Sorry.

Ammer - Evil is the new cute.
I like this one, it reminds me also of Boochi for some reason. :P I, personally think this round was pretty hard. And I think you did a good job, nothing else to say.

Anoohilator - A cute bundle of DOOM!
This one's not bad... I can actually see this on the signature, with DOOM bolded or flashing or whatever. Good job, I guess.

Khristian - Cute.....*Fade out**Fade in*Just Met Evil.*Fade out*
Ehh... First of all, read the round note. I think this applies to this one very much, especially when the longest it can be is about 3 words. Other than that, this is average.

matterbug - Bri-frightening up your day
At first I thought, ewww... But after a while, I'm starting to like this more and more. I can see this on the signature, with the 'Bri-' fading/flashing or whatever.

pattypus - I could be your friend *fade* or I could be your foe
One, if you hadn't put the fade there. It would be PERFECT for filling up the space. However, I dont like this one very much. Its very bleaugh for this signature, and I imagine it being more serious than it should be. It strikes me as the subtext for some sort of anchient mythology signature.

the_dog_god - Fur me ? *squeal*
Ehh... A little short, but it works... I guess. A bit more original then the other entries, bravo on that.

VeraX - Not your average furry friend.
Sorry, this one is really, REALLY boring. I mean, it fits most of the criteria for the signature, it's nice and all, but its REALLY BORING. It doesn't have the... Snazzajaba that I've seen in some subtexts.

My votes go to:

.:Compact Disk:., .:Requiem:. and Pattypus

You've proved you're a fan of the wordplay, which I am as well. But like Twinkle said, it's repetitive to have the word "Furby" in it. If I had a set with the main text "Creator of the Universe", it wouldn't make sense to have the subtext be "Creator of the Universe", too, right?

.:Requiem:.
Blue-eyed Beauty
Again like Twinkle said, this is too serious for the sig. The furby to me, besides looking like it's going to eat me, doesn't look "beautiful". I think "cutie" would be a better word.

Ammer
Evil is the new cute.
Pretty cliche, but it works. It describes the furby well, the only thing you're missing in it is originality.

Anoohilator
A cute bundle of DOOM!
I like it. We all know furbies are demonic beings, but we have to admit they are rather cute. Good job.

Khristian
Cute.....*Fade out**Fade in*Just Met Evil.*Fade out*
Again, it's cliche. And the fade is very unnessasary. It does work, though.

matterbug
Bri-frightening up your day
I like it! Nothing more to say except you've proved yourself to be getting really good at this.

pattypus
I could be your friend *fade* or I could be your foe
I'm iffy on it. It's not bad, but it's not the greatest either. The problem I have with it is originality, which it really lacks. Like Twinkle said, I do like how you used 'foe' instead of something with the word evil.

the_dog_god
Fur me ? *squeal*
Not something I would expect out of a mostly sane male (especially the squealing) but it works, and it works very well. Good job.

VeraX
Not your average furry friend.
This one is really boring and cliche. Seriously, how many "Not your average whatever" phrases are used in subtexts, life, whatever? You get points for using furry friend, however, because too many people went with the evil theme this time.

CD, Requiem, VeraX.

Requiem, please calm down, it's a game. It's not worth being extremely rude to your fellow judges and participants. The game is not about winning, it's about improving.

Wow, I think I dodged a bullet this round. I was also worried that it might be hard to understand, but I really liked the idea of it and it stuck in my head. I think I may have been better going with a fade or something, next time I'll try and make my subtexts clearer.

Thanks judges. :)

Oh well...

"Furby! *fade* A furry bee? Where?"

The first bit was meant to be one person speaking and the second another who knows nothing about furbies...
(That was why I put in a fade WISsy :P)

It seems you all missed that... Oh well... Better luck next time.

*secretly plots to kill the winner* ^^

Sorry to place my presence rather strongly in this game, where I might not be wanted, but uh, anyway. xD CD, your subtext only had one set of speech marks, implying that the words were spoken by one person only. Perhaps this is what caused the confusion?

I sort of agree with you... I mean, sometimes half the subtexts are the same, really... and they don't get voted. No points for creativity. I know how you feel Req *hugs*. Oh well, s'all just a game.

So, were those all the ratings?

If yes, then... I'm out. :(

Now for a speech. xP

I had a lot of fun in this competition. :)

Good luck to everyone! :D
