EDIT: to bring this back on track, has Nabile's bellybutton been bugging anyone else?

Define 'bugging'. It is still not as suggestive as Nabile and Amira wearing transluscent clothes.

Yeah, the translucent clothing is pretty ehh too. But it just doesn't make sense for a Neopet to have a belly button, because having one implies that the pet has a mother which gave birth to it.
Besides, Jeanie didn't have one, AND she wore translucent clothing.

But Ixi's are deer which are mammals. They would have had to have been birthed. Not every pet can be like Krawks, Draik, Koi, Pteri, etc and have been born from eggs like repitiles, fish, and birds.

Still, the implication is live birth. And live birth is icky.
I know that's not how Neopets meant it or how children will see it, but unfortunately that's how my demented high-school-biology mind sees it.

You got lucky. Keep it. =)

So digging is a group effort and to also let people catch up with the puzzle. TNT is really being nice here. No NP spending, plenty of time to catch up...yep.

Thing is, if digging is a group effort, then many are just going to sit back and wait till it's undug. :( I hope there's some thing for all this digging.
Like a digging avatar. XD Randomly obtained as you dig.

How can a mammal come from an egg! Sorry to get rude, but I'm a scientist.

I'd hate to have to dig forever for a stupid avatar, but that would be so TNT.

Hehe, but the neopets creators are not scientists. Knowing an animal was born in the tradional mammal way (for most mammals) may disturb "the children". Hence, all neopets come from eggs.

Also, technically they are not mammals, they are neopets. So neopets could quite easily come from eggs :D

I'm still digging. *points to 28 piles of sand* I just see this as an hourly daily. Plus, I'm bored right now.

Neopets are monotreme, if anything. All neopets come from eggs, and the majority are mammals, so montremes. They're just cousins of the plattypus. Still neopets is fantasy, so not all scientific logic can apply with it. *shrugs*

Plus, when I first join neopets long ago, they kinda made you know they came from eggs.

I remember that, when you create a pet and if you don't finish it and you try to lookup the pet I think it says something like "its not hatched yet" I think anyways :D

I'm not bothered by it only because it obviously came from her one human parent that also gave her hands instead of hooves. We are not here to judge. :D

Sorry for the short response, but

Ewww.

Okay, okay. I drop the whole biology thing, mostly since I'm a physicist. Which brings me to my next point, shouldn't TNT let winged pets go to and from the repository more than walking pets? Their airspeed would beat land speed allowing more trips. That would also mean that pets w/o feet or arms or any other land-based locomotion would go slower. Although, it would be cool seeing Jetsams swiming the sands of the Lost Desert.

As interesting as discussing how Neopets are birthed is, can the thread please get back on topic? This already a lot for people to catch up on. I'd rather they didn't have to wade through untopicness as well. Thank you. :)

Well, Pteris have wings but no arms. They can fly, but not with piles of sand. Do you classify them as flying or no arms? How do Jubjubs carry anything in the first place? To keep it simple, they base it off a single stat and keep it constant for all species. However, some pets start with higher movement than other pets.
