12 piles of sand.. okay..that's enough sand for the night for me... catch you all in a few hours..

and i dont think the picture changed at all in terms of sand amount.. maybe it did but i dont recall the first picture as it's been hours ago..

and lastly, i do hope the amount of times you grab sand does matter.. i wonder if this is a group thing, where we're all pitching in or if we'll need to grab x amount before continuing onwards..

Scroll Repository

You carry a handful of sand away from the scroll repository.

While excavating the handful of sand, you also found something else!

Pyramid Potato Skins

Wow, they sure built the repository way out in the middle of nowhere!
It's going to take you a while to carry the sand back to civilization.

If TNT is being fair, it's a group thing and combined we need to remove x many loads. Individual isn't fair for those with way longer lockouts.

Isn't agility the stat that isn't used in the BD? It might be TNT's way of finally recognizing those people who trained their agility. :)

I'm hoping you'll need multiple handfuls of sand later on in this plot. That would be super cool.

And fair ... since everyone can go get sand ... it's free!.

If it takes a weekend to uncover the pyramid ... everyone can have plenty of sand as well ... no matter what their lockout time is.

I personally don't really see the point of "the whole of neopia has to remove 1 million piles of sand before we put up plot #7".. but again.. who knows what TNT is thinking :P

I'm more for the idea in that the piles of sand being counted as our "bonus points" for the war we will be having.. those with higher agility = faster re-entry = more piles of sands = more points. Of course it will just add up to the war score ultimately.

This is assuming that they are awarding points like the previous other wars.

You can look at that two ways, because if you have forked out a load of NPs and spent a lot of time building up your pet then would it be fair if someone playing neopets for a week can gain and do the same as the better, well trained pet? I am one of those that haesn't really train a pet :( I will be now lol but I say that after every plot.

My best pet lol: Lvl : 21
Str : 35
Def : 10
Mov : 16
Hp : 42 / 42

It's not stat-based, its luck. Try this - cart off some sand, return to the page, change your active pet.

If the time it takes is based off stats, you wouldn't be able to change your pet without the time taken being altered

Why should agility be rewarded? I spent no time training. but had the points to spend on a lab map so I have high agility. I think the "we need to move x amount before #7" idea is much more valid. Especially with the weekend coming up, it keeps us busy while giving TNT more time to work on things. Makes sense to me since they're almost always late with things.

I think we are seeing an agility pattern, though.

You can't get sand ... and then just change your pet and have your other pet return faster. :)

Try getting sand with one pet ... bring it all the way back.
Then get sand with a second pet with a much different agility.

I'm guessing the second pet will take much less time.

I think 85 is probably the 1 hour cut-off value.

Do I think the sand will *actually* useful? Probably not.

I am *hoping* it will be, though.

Do I think anyone is really being "rewarded" by having higher agility ... well ... not really, it does make it easier to get sand ... but if TNT gives everyone plenty of time to get some sand ... then there is no problem.

My point was ... agility has never been *used* for anything before. They now seem to be using a stat that up to this point, was pointless.

Do I think that is good? Yes.

Would I think it was good if it didn't allow everyone to get enough sand that they needed? No.

If it runs over the entire weekend ... does it give people enough time to get sand? I would think so.

I'm sure the agility probably does matter, but I don't think it's going to be significant in the long run.

Sidenote... I decided to work on getting some avatars while I wait to get back to the repository and I've refreshed my Draconack and cheese like 300 times with no avatar. I may be too insane by the time the next plot part comes out.

I think agility does matter.. but I'm also suspicious that those with approximately 50 agility actually only needed to wait 30 minutes (saw a few people with 50 agility pets saying that on the neoboards).. bug perhaps? :P

I believe agility rating is most likely related too. As for whether or not the whole of neopia must pitch in to dig out the pyramid, how long would that take, really? I think of the tombola when it asks you to donate and the whole of neopia pitches in and he is reopened in a few minutes!

For the Draconack, there is a theory that you should have more than one cheese and nothing else in the inventory to increase the chance of his eating one of them. Don't know whether or not that's true. Just keep refreshing! :)

Thanks for the tip.

And as for it being a group effort, the difference between this and tombola is that everyone can only move one handful at a time. I still see it as some busy work to keep us satisfied until the next part is released.

I did do this, my first pet took 3 hours to get back in ( a new pet - low stats), so I changed to my "best" pet statistic wise, and I get in within 1 hour.

I don't have to be told twice, it has something to do with the stats.
