Petpages and pound are back up. Wonder if it had anything to do with that weirness with the maps disappearing...

I'm trying to get the location for my seventh piece. It says to pull the lever of doom, but nothing happens when I pull it! No np taken, no parchment, nothing! I've even been to see the fortune teller at least twice since placing my last piece. What's up with that?!

They're on different servers so I doubt it. Good to know petpages are back up though, I can start working on mine again now :D

Who is the "it" that says to pull the lever?

What is your fortune from the fortune teller?

Do you have the 100 NPs on your Neopet (it can't be in the bank).

How do you read a specific scroll at the library? What if I want to read the Kha scroll and I go into a library room but it doesn't have the Kha scroll in it? Are there three different sets of four scrolls that correspond with the three library doors? If so, where can I find them?

Sorry for so many questions but I have only three more doors to try before I find my statue (knowing my luck it'll be in the last one) and I want to try out some of these theories with the 'understands' :D

Again, You need to have at least 100np so the hand can steal it from you. Otherwise, nothing happens.

There are 3 different library rooms with 4 different scrolls that match all the 12 symbols in the temple. I don't know which door has which behind it as after I read the first scroll and had to wait 12 hours I haven't bothered going into the library doors! lol scared something will happen in the 12 hours I am blocked out!

Hello, coming out of lurk mode... :) Hi all.

I don't know if it will help with the tablet at all, but I pulled out my mom's old hieroglyph dictionary, and looked up the definition on some of the symbol names. I couldn't find all of them, and mostly I don't think there's any connection... but the definition for kha is interesting. Veeeery interesting.

Ahn: I couldn't find, but Anh is 1. Surround, enclose, embrace. 2. Enclosed place of protection. 3. Word with a hidden meaning, riddle.

Ben: 1. Amen. 2. Evil, wicked, wretched. 3. God of evil. 4. To escape, flee, pass away, to be dissolved. 5. To copulate

Ra: 1. Sun, day, night and day, daily. 2. Ruler. 3. Work, to act. 4. Place. 5. Storehouse. 6. Malice.

Kha: 1. One thousand. 2. One thousand years (hmm....) 3. Office, chamber. 4. Column. 5. To measure, to account. 6. Touch, feel, seek, examine by touch. 7. To winnow, to scatter. 8. To cut, engrave. 9. The last. 10. To adjure, cry out. 11. The substance of the body.

Set: A god. (I expected the word to have another meaning- odd that Re/Ra, the greater god, is a word that means so many different things, and Set is just Set.)

Kar: 1. Object, thing, instrument. 2. Boat. 3. Shrine, sanctuary (another hmm...) 4: Frog.

Tep: 1. Head, top, beginning of a journey. 2. High ground. 3. Person. 4. On, upon, in, at, about, by.

Well, it was probably a waste of time, but until the next clue, what else is there to do? ...though with my luck, it probably came out while I was typing this!

The number 1000 seems to be very important. 1000 years, 1000 tombs... Or maybe I'm just desperate :)

To sparrowinsky: Are you going with the translation of the words or of the symbol? The symbol translation would be more useful for our theories.

To Devilfish: Everything is important. The number 1000 may have more than one meaning outside of being just a number. We have to look beyond the obvious.

Now if we combine both the above info, when we get this little thing I saw on an UFO program. The heiroglyph for 100 (could have been 1000) is a spiral. This could be TNT's way of telling us that it will be a long and winding path to the truth. Alternatively, they could be saying that this problem will spiral out of control.

Okay, if we're doing this, let's try ancient numerology for a laugh :D

10 = 1 = Rebirth - that which stirs and awakens your soul at this time.
It is seen as the perfect--the return to unity. When based on the digits of the two hands, it is completeness and the foundation of all counting. Its highest ranges of completeness, 100 and 1000, are the basis of all Hindu cosmology, and in China the Ten Thousand Things, ie: the uncountable, symbolize the whole of manifestation.

Makes sense, I guess

Unfortunately, using the word was my only option, for the books I have. The few symbols I could place (and I paged through something like a hundred pages of symbols... blargh), for the most part didn't have meanings attached, only letters. The books are good, but they're old, and designed for someone taking a class in this stuff... that probably contributes to my not finding much.

Also, if you look at the symbols versus the words... they don't match up. At least, there's one specifically that doesn't- I don't know enough about heiroglyphs to know about the others. The symbol they call Tep is actually utchat, the Divine Right Eye of Re. And I'm pretty sure Djo is the symbol for Ma'at... though I may be wrong there. One of the definitions for Ben is Amen, which is Amun/Amon. I don't know what he was before being strung together with Re, but it seems like they've got things fairly mixed up.

But then, I shouldn't expect them to be really accurate, huh? Heh. My history geek-ness makes me want to pick them all apart, even when I barely know what I'm talking about.

I hope the next clue comes out soon. I want something to do!

Just to straighten things out in my head - what scrolls does everyone have in each of their libararies (if you know)?

Also did we discover anything special about the spinning scroll on the fortune teller swf file?

Edit: cripes I'm fossilized...I post too much, heh ^_^

I did take classes in this stuff and you're right. Most of the symbols/names on neopets don't match, which is why I didn't look into it in the first place. About the Ben symbol, newer books say this is actually Amon-Re (or Amon-Ra, spelling differs) wich if I remember correctly means dawn or day. Something to do with the backgrounds of the temple changing?
Geez, I wish we'd get a new clue already! We're really getting desperate here!

What the fortune teller is saying :

"But what does it mean? These glyphs and their order mean nothing to me. I'm a fortune teller, not a professor of ancient languages! We must find some way to translate them.

Ok so there has to be a way to translate them and it will be something on neopets.

The order they are in must also mean nothing :( I am quick today lol sorry was just looking through everything again.

EDIT: Has anyone looked for things on Chesterpot? This legendary adventurer found the location of Maraqua, the lost Battledome and pretty much everything else that was worth discovering.

I am off to search
