The gelert has absolutely no neck now, has a hunched back, has claws, and is bulkier in general.

But the point isn't that it doesn't look different enough...the point is that mutants should be weird, not just "scary", because we already have other colors for being "scary", whereas mutant has INFINITE possibilities to be so, so much more than that. When you have mutants running around with tentacles, giant eyeballs, oozing slime, exposed brains and even tongues down their backs (the aisha), a merely "evil" looking pet is a complete and total waste that outright depresses me. As a neopet, it's cool. As a mutant, it's completely bland and unoriginal.

Kinda like the mutant ruki. I LOVE the mutant ruki, with its cockroach-like appearance, but it could have easily been tyrannian. To me, basically, it could pass as a different, but un-mutated neopet species...it's too "healthy" looking.

I don't see what's so wrong with the Mutant Gelert. I think it looks more mutant than a few of the current mutant pets. It looks like it was in some crazy lab experiment which was designed to make it more ferocious...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the mutant colour is supposed to be a result of Sloth's crazy lab experiments on Neopets...

So really, this pet fits really well (Plus it looks awesome!)

I am in awe... So long Mutant Lupe. HELL-O Mutant Gelert! I hope they release it!

Now to those lupe lovers, (I'm one too,) let's face it, there's always been mutants that have outclassed the Mutant Lupe when it comes to style, ugliness and posing. Especially with the lastest batch but it's always been another species. The lupe was the only Mutant Dog. Now, it might as well not even exist. I think the Mutant Gelert could even rival the Halloween Lupe! It is just so awsome! I believe the price of the Mutant Lupe Transmogrification Potion will drop like a rock after/if this is released.

I don't know why it wasn't released on mutant day. It's a lot better than that blasted mutant koi. *shudder*

Anyways, Kyrii update - What happened to them? They look like their are anorexic. Atleast their upper half. Could just be the neck though, it looks rather long.



They don't have that slyness about them anymore, either. It just mad like its going to scratch you (claws..). Atleast I think.

Really, no offence to the Neopets artists, I usually like revamps, and this one has potential, just if they looked happier, were a little more filled out and lost the claws.. they'd look better. Their current style reminds me of Zafaras.

No offense but I completely disagree. Though, I must admit, at first I felt the same as you but now that I've had time to look it over, they're 100 times better.

Longer hair.
Hair doesn't necessarily look like it's a part of it's tail.
Ears look better.
They have life in their eyes.
Proper proportioned sized head.
The slyness is still there... Heck, even more so now.
No rodent as two fingers, and seeing as this is Neo's version of squirrel or chipmunk, it's a sensable change.
Accurate shading, (finally.)
The feet/legs don't look like plushie feet/pillow ends anymore. The BEST part of the revamp.

Only thing I don't get is the two toes. Rodents have three or more toes. Oh well. It's still better.

See, I think the koi is the only perfect mutant of the three. It actually looks diseased and malformed, the way mutants should. Like the blumaroo, cybunny, tuskaninny, and kiko.

Sure it technically looks like it can be a mutation, but it's still a completely uncreative one. Anyone can think up a ferocious beast like this. That's all it is...a straightforward ferocious beast. The point is that so many other mutants have a completely unique, freaky look to them, and even most of the other "ferocious" ones still have some element of strangeness. The meerca at least is a cyclops with teeth like a mole-rat, and the lupe has those metallic exoskeletal growths. The gelert, like the mutant kyrii and grarrl, is just completely mundane. The kyrii and grarrl would have the right to exist if they had as much attitude as the mutant gelert, but they'd still be boring (as it stands, I think the mutant kyrii and grarrl are two of neopias worst colors ever, along with the robot draik, christmas mynci and darigan shoyru)



Kyrii Revamp:

I was never a fan of kyriis (I remember the poll that created them...I thought they were the worst species on it, by far!) but I think this is mostly a good revamp, at least in the main poses. The BD poses look a bit too angular.

I always thought of the kyrii as a lagomorph rather than a rodent, but that doesn't really make a difference when it comes to feet.

Yes...The Kyrri Contest. Does anyone remember the old Kyrri? Or I shoul d say the pet Kyrri replaced? It was Fuzz! He was a boxing looking fellow.

I also remember the Eyire original. I had him...I like him alot before the four legged creature today.

I never saw the robot fuzio until long after fuzios were gone, it was awesome, like a big metal skull...

The tatsu was a beaked dragon with a horselike mane. I guess the eyrie isn't very far from it, it was already halfway to a griffon, but still, it was definately a reptilian beast, and bigger-looking than any of the unpainted dragons we have today (that is, it didn't have a giant cute head on a cartoony body)
