I'm really liking these World Challenges. I learned about them last night. I am ok at a couple of the flash games ... so we'll see how I do. I did manage to get the high score for the hour once now (the 2 piece win is pretty cool). :)

One question that I didn't see answered ... but perhaps someone has and I missed it. How do ties get decided? I.E. if 2 people both have a challenge score of "3" after the hour ... which one wins? It doesn't seem to be the person with the higher score that hour. Is it random? Or do they actually split the prize?

I understand that the "high score for the hour" is a first come sort of thing.

Reverse alphabetical order, which REALLY annoys me because my name starts with a C. Bah. It should be highest average score, or by order of who scored their points first, or something.

There's something confusing me about the "score reviewing" thing.

Lately I've been competing in the Snow Wars II challenge. Yesterday, I managed up a score of 3901, but I got the score review message. About half an hour later, I see someone with 3998 as the top score. I only got my NP, and thus my score counted, today.

Sooo...does this have to do with the reviewing process, some strange system in which the game detects what needs to be reviewed, or is this person somehow averting the reviewing system?

The review system is random and spotty... last time I was playing Splat a Sloth it refused to accept several ~250ish scores and then it allowed one of my 280+ scores through. Its just a crapshoot whether a 'high' score will go through or not.

Sigh. It's not the same for every game. Some games (i.e. mootix drop) have a fixed score review point. Other's clearly have random reviews instated (i.e. meerca chase 2, i think)

right now i have 6 haunted woods pieces and 7 meridell pieces. i plan to trade them for other maps since i am horrible at other region games.

anyways, is it still worth it to cash in the maps? i know the random factor, but maybe they ran out of darigan paintbrushes and all they have is codestones :|

Well I just traded in a space station map and all I got was a codestone. I've traded in 3 maps and haven't gotten a paint brush yet.

Playing Ice Cream Machine in World Challenge--

Will you get the avatar if you score 15,000+ but you've posted your 3 neopoint earning scores and you've been continuing to play and post scores for the World Challenge??

No, you need to get it within your first 3 scores for the day.

Today: I see they have revamped the score reporting ... as well as new icons for things.

It doesn't seem that it is always reverse alphabetical order now for ties. The person who always seems to beat me is earlier in the alphabet, yet we are tied in this current competition and he is listed before me.

It seems to be regular alphabetical order today.

-------

Edit: it just switched back to reverse alphabetical order on one of my games, and regular alphabetical order still on the other game.

It seems to just be acting weird, now.

Everytime we post complaints about things on this thread, they seem to get fixed. It's like magic! ;)

I've just recently started to try my luck at the World Challenges and so far I've banked a cool 37k after just winning twice.
