People like Amy Lee are talented, I even think Christian Aguleria is talented. They both have great voices. However, one moans and one screeches. All I'm saying is that I think they would benefit from trying out new things.

If you think about it, these artists wrote the songs when they felt like this. Therefore, I mean, it's not obviously liked by everyone but they're a lot of people who appreciate songs like this.

If we didn't have "break up" songs, or songs about feeling depressed, than you'd think you were alone in having those feelings.

I don't know, personally it helps me that other people have experienced these feelings before and that I'm not alone in feeling them.

Do you really think you'd feel like you were alone in feeling that if you didn't have music?

How about talking to other people?

I'm not getting at you, I just think you can't really pin that all on music...without music there'd still be other ways to know people shared your feelings- talking, literature, art..

Igg, when you feel a certain why, sometimes you'd say "Why me?" thinking that no one else would go through it.

And also, it depends on the problem. You can't just to someone and say "Guess what? I'm suicidal!" (This is just an example) Sometimes, you just let music comfort you.

Exactly. As Ammer said, sometimes talking isn't the answer. There are other outlets for emotion -- if only more people knew this. It would make life a lot easier.

Hilary Duff
Coldplay

I know a lot of people like Coldplay, but I just don't see why. I guess it's just not my type of music. lol

Hilary is quite self explanitory.

Evanesence. "My Immortal" makes me want to choke myself to death. I'm sorry, but I just can't standing the whiny, moaning quality in their music.

Hillary Duff, I'm sorry but a lot of the actresses-turned-singers (and vise versa) aren't very good, but thankfully I don't have to hear her music very often.

Jesse McCartney is another one I don't care for. I can't describe what I don't like about him, I don't really know what it is, but his music is terrible.

Plus, he was in a boyband before his solo career came along. Enough said.

Dream Street.

I know, it's sad that I know this but I always saw commercials (When I had satellite) to order their CD over phone and whatnot.

Tell me about it and I also can't stand that Crazy Frog.

Even worse there is a racing video game starring Crazy Frog along with his annoying friends which is being made by Digital Jesters for the PS2 and PC.

No, I know...
I just meant that I'm sure if you didn't have music there would be other ways, such as literature, for example. I don't feel it to be the be all and end all.

That's true. But I personally can't read something to comfort myself. Perhaps I can, but I usually listen to music.

To each his own I guess.

Yes, but that's because you do have music...I expect if you'd never had it wou wouldn't have felt the gaping hole it would leave were it to now be taken away.

I like to overthink :P
