yay i have a sidebar 
anyway i am a rank 2.. and my main probably only had like 100k in it when i signed up.. probably much less..
its really weird and confusing how they did it. but did supporter rank seem to affect what people got asked for?

Supporter rank, so far as I can see, did affect what people were asked for. All were asked for UBs at some point, but I think rank 1s got healing potions and other cheaper items. Also, I'm pretty sure rank 1s got asked for 1 - 2 items, rank 2s 2 - 3, and rank 3s always got asked for 3 items.

Hello Neopets Team,
I have always participated in wars, atleast a little bit. When the new war came around, I saw a new way to participate in the war, as a supporter. I know my pet doesn't stack up to those of other people, so I thought this was a very imaginative way of playing the war. I signed up to be a supporter. I saw I could earn points by doing two things, quests and playing games. I didn't think it would be too hard, as I have atleast normal hand-eye cordination and do some faerie quests every now and then.
I clicked on the link to my first quest and was amazed to see what items I had to get. The cost for all the items reached over 100k. I was shocked. This was just my first quest, and it cost over 100k. Okay, I said, sometimes it happens. Then it hit me...I could not cancel the quest. There was no way for me to say, "no thanks". Well, I thought, I will just play some games and just like faerie quests, they will reset after time.
So I went over to play some games to earn some points. This should be a lot of fun, as I do enjoy the various games on Neopets. The first thing I noticed was I could only earn points from a select few games. To top it off, I had to earn 500 points in that game to earn one point. I tried my hands at the games and couldn't even get near 500 point mark. Wow, how unfair that was. So, unless I get lucky, I can't get one point from those games.
After a day, I went back and clicked on the quest button to see what my new quest was. Surely, if I couldn't get any points from games, I could get them with quests. All I saw was the same old quest looking me square in the eyes. I was puzzled for a second. If I can't cancel the quest...how do I earn points? I can't reach the limit for the games, and I surely won't spend over 100k on one point. What was I supposed to do to earn a trophy? Atleast in the past, when I have gotten a few points, like one or two, I have gotten a nice little trophy in my lookup.
Well, I thought, maybe they will give me one even if I don't have any points. I wake up today to see people that have trophies. I rush to my lookup and see no trophy. I don't even have access to the prize store! All in all, I am treated like I didn't even spend a second of my time on this war! In all reality, I spent some hours trying to get that 500 point score in the games, and what do I have to show for it? I don't even have a "thanks for playing" email from Neopets. What's wrong here?
In my opinion, this war has been the worst experience for me on Neopets. I thought the supporter idea was great, but it was just used so horribly. It was not easy to score 500 points for each game. And after speaking with many people online, it seems that many of the quests required items worth much more than a measy point was worth.
To top it off, my friend showed me the items I could have gotten for the 1 point I could have earned if I spent 100k on the various items for my first quest. Guess what I could have gotten for that one point? A stupid keychain OR a sidebar. If that isn't a big slap in the face of the player, what is? I don't know if I will participate again in anymore wars, but I do know that I will never sign up for a supporter-type position in any war after this one.
I don't spend that much time on Neopets. The time I do spend it used to take care of my gallery and participate in wars. I honestly feel that half that time will cease to be, and I will just have to find a game that treats their players with the respect they deserve.

I thought it was an excellent system that they just need to work the bugs out of. Plus it gets a hooray for the initiative to change stuff around.

I have a question, should I get a garin negg or a Jacques Stain Glass Window? I only have 240 left so I can only get one or the other. Are people actually buying the window?
Back on topic, I think that choosing your war prize is a great idea, but unfortunately the prizes that we had to choose from weren't that great at all

Jacques Stained Glass Window is unbuyable on the wiz and the negg is selling for 6,000 np's. I don't know how much you could get for the window, but surely more than 6,000 np's.
I haven't redeemed any of my Maraquan Supporter War points yet and I'm not going to untill they remove one of those Marafins and give us another prize choice.
Having two Marafins is obviously a mistake because that leaves Maraquan Supports with just 9 prize choices when everybody else (Pirate Supports and Warriors on both sides) have 10 different prizes to choose from.

Wow. I really, really don't know what to say.
I'm more than disappointed and saying "Worst. War.Ever" would simply be a major understatement.
Yep, that's right, I'm one of the battlers who got hurled into Rank 2 with only 116HP and 125STR. I think I managed to beat my Wave 1 opponent 12 times and got pummeled every other time after that. I could not even touch the Wave 2.
But, "hey" i thought to myself " perhaps TNT will give the rank 2's a points multiplier or something, since they're pets are stronger, they're opponents are stronger, and they have less of a chance of getting higher points." Obviously, I was wrong.
So here I am, contemplating what to buy with my 12 points. A keychain perhaps? Or a t-shirt. Wait a minute, a t-shirt seems a bit too familiar. OH! That's right, it was similar to the prize I got when I joined my first war and had a pet with barely 30HP. Wow, have times changed. I've sure gotten stronger, and here are my rewards. *sarcasm detected*
Seriously though, really disappointed. In the past few weeks I've felt guilty for being rank 1 whenever I've been on PPT. Bah. But anyway, I love the trophy and honestly didn't think I'd ever be able to get that one since I assumed it'd be for a much higher point range. And since trophies are why I do wars, not prizes, I'm quite happy with the result even if I didn't beat my score from the Meridell war.

To change the sidebar you need to go to help, preferences, site preferences and then 'sidebar'.
I never participated in this war since my account was frozen the VERY first day it started, so I don't think I have the right to say anything here, but! From my point of view TNT trid to do the new players more good in this war rather than older players. I'm guessing >60% Neopians are newbies or starters who aren't very good at playing, and TNT tried to make the war 'work' for the majority of people on Neo *cough* newbies instead of the dedicated long term players :/ It's pretty sad, so I understand the frustration that's been going on in this thread so far. At least you guys get the pretty sidebar, and since when did TNT actually gave out decent prizes for wars anyway?
I'm also in my second week of uni exam, so I'll shut up now and go study some more biochemistry.

I was supporter rank 3 on a 2 year old account. It must have had something to do with NP. Either what you had on hand or what type of bank account you had (maybe combination of both) I know I started with over 500k on hand. I always keep a lot of money on hand so I can buy something fast if I see it. It cost me a fortune for 28 points. I should have been a warrior. I have weak pets but pretty good weapons. Every quest I had cost at least 80k np. If they started this war over, I would no longer have the np to be rank 3 lol.
