It's based of of the Aztec winged serpent god Quetzalcoatl. There's actually tons of feathery winged pets in fantasy art in general. There's some especially pretty ones in World of Warcraft.

I don't see any changes... That explains why i cannot win at the Mystery Pics!

Certainly took me a moment too... On the second one, follow its body from the head. Notice the purple spots, look for the same ones on both hissi, the second one has one that hasnt' been colored in...

If they are going for the whole Quetzalcoatl theme, I'd rather see it as a very powerful looking serpent than a tiny little garden snake

Coming from a purely studious Aztec type standpoint (i've spent a lot of time researching the mythology, and the art... actually I did a Quetzalcoatl bronze head, rather wicked, anywho) it's a great piece.
I want to draw it.
I want to draw it lots, and it's probably the only Hissi i'd ever consider owning. It rocks.

Nimmos have always made me laugh :lol:

On the faerie hissi they should probably make it look more... hissi-ish.
He needs the same eyes as the rest of them and a slightly larger head compaired to his body then I think he'd look fine
