I managed to get in 4th for shoyru, but I was still behind third by over 100 votes. That is a tough category.

Honestly I'm not impressed with the three winning picts. I mean they are ok art wise, but not creative. They are just drawings of the shoyru in a regular game pose. (ie the plushie shoyru pose)

I hope this week is better for artists.

I'm sorry, but I actually really like that art. I don't think that it needs to be particularly creative to be good.

Don't get me wrong, creative art such as yours is great, shows a large deal of concentration, but I don't necessarily think that they put in any less effort or less thought into their entry; they deserved to place as well, their art is beautiful.

There just aren't enough places for all the good art to place - sometimes y ou're lucky, and sometimes you are, unforunately, not.

I don't think I said the winning picts were bad, and if I implied that, I'm sorry to have came that way. I'm talking about my personal prefrences there, and what I look for when I vote for an image. That prefrence differs with different people, but for me most of the time I look for things that don't look like the typical neopet style and pose. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just my prefrence.

But then the same can go with the other way around. I've seen some people not go for stuff that doesn't look like the neopet and has a different pose.

I've even had people outright reject voting for me, because they thought my style was creepy.

And I'm not always impressed with my art either. My MS paint ruki that won 1st took me a good 4 hours, and one of Marffey's picts took me about one hour, but I'm not impressed with them. I was surprized they placed, but I did not feel excited over them winning.

And also granted with the shoyrus I have not saved their images to desktop to see the full sized image, so my judgement may be flawed, because I'm only viewing them from the scaled down thumbnails of the "previous week's votes" So if they had any detail, I missed it. I was comparing them to other images I had seen when people were advertising on the beauty contest board, etc.
