On rumors of the highly-anticipated upcoming battle, Main Codestone prices began rising since late January this year and have skyrocketed since February from 5,250 to 7,500 NP! I'm not complaining since I'm making a killing off of them (300k at least), but do you think this inflation is more than a bit excessive? After all, it does more than triple the price for some trainers (including myself)

Hoarders are already putting their stocks on the market and continue to make large amounts of money.

Hey, it happens every war. Neopets is a world based on real-life economics, and them's the breaks. Codestones are like the crude oil of Neopia.

Except theres a good inflow thats not ever going to stop, which is the only thing keeping the prices decent. :P I DO wonder what would happen if neo took down the tombola man for a week...OO;

Ack, the prices barely recovered from the last war! They didn't go this high last time did they? Gah. Training doesn't seem worth it anymore. :/

I seem to remember that happening a while back. Not during a war, thankfully. But, I do remember the price of a box of trifle mix rising to about 20 nps.

Regarding the price of codestones. The main rose to above 10K during the last war and then fell almost as quickly as it rose. Most of the others rose to high 5000's. Then fell a lot after the war. Any time there is a war, the market on codestones and faeries is quite volatile.

Hmm, like the dot com bubble of years past. When should I sell mine? Is the war confirmed?

Last time I seem to recall they hit a peak which then lasted til pretty much the end of the war, going up maybe a little more. Seeing as this is a long war I can only guess that the prices may go even higher.

*sits on a lonely codestone in sdb* :lol:

This plot has seen a great eal of comics already... We might be looking at a major war, even though they said they were only testing a new war system.

BTW, I just discovered 359 Sticky Snowballs I left in my SDB that I forgot about. When should I sell THOSE?

Ooh I made a fair bit from snowballs last time round that I'd lost in my sdb, the sticky ones went up quite a bit (% wise that is, along with stone, exploding and the mudballs). I can't remember what they went up to though :/ The stone ones got particularly expensive I think.

I do remember playing a lot of snow wars during the war though, hee =) Maybe I should buy some snowballs...although they seem to have jumped already, meh.

Yeah, I bought 'em for around 500-550.

Any reason why the main ones are so expensive?

BTW I had to shell out 7500 for one. I don't think I could afford another.

Codestones are in proportion to rarity, since training demand for them is totally random.

I have started selling my modest stash of codestones, as I think they have neared their peak. I doubt main codestones will break the 8k mark this war.
