I used to do it for dice-a-roo sometimes, but not anymore.. It's not very profitable, at least when compared to what I get now.

I do remember someone writing here on PPT about getting frozen for using an autorefresher. It's been awhile ago, so the details are a bit fuzzy in my brain. The person was using one on the chatboards to create new topics that advertised his guild. I don't remember how often the new boards appeared--but seems it was pretty frequently--every few minutes perhaps? Said he forgot that he left the thing on and left his house for awhile--came back a few hours later to find his account frozen for spamming.

So, I don't know if you'd get caught for putting quarters on an F5 key--not quite the same as an autorefresher--but, to me, it's not worth the risk.

:) I remember that. He used not an autorefresher, but a program that repeated a certain action every few minutes. :P It was Ghost-something, not an autorefresher.

Ah, I assumed they were the same type of thing. Thanks, o_0.

I know people on Neocolours use atuorefreshers to do transfers all the time... it's probably the safest way to do it, especially self-transfers. No one there has been frozen for it yet, knock on virtual wood.

Yes, it IS the safest way. Haven't lost a pet since i learned to transfer this way. And I've transfered ALOt of pets for my guild, avatar pets.

I'd guess it probably just depends on how long you use them for. For transfers for example you don't need to have it running for very long as opposed to someone who leaves one going over night.

It would be nice if TNT would actually sit down and clarify some rules. There's nothing much to gain from auto-refreshing after all but I have heard of people being iced for it (don't know how reliable that info is though).

I click the refresh in the top for restocking so I wouldn't know. I would like to find out though.

I usually just put something on top of the F5 key, but have used one before for one or two times and never got frozen...

That's a completely different thing, though, right? He got frozen for spamming, not using an autorefresher (and like o_0 said, he was using a different kind of program anyway). I wonder if anyone's actually been frozen for using an autorefresher (like the Firefox or Opera extension) to gain a BD opponent/get an avatar/attach a petpetpet.

Umbreon_of_the_moon was frozen for using an autorefresher that was built into his browser. He's still frozen and it looks like he's staying that way.

Don't do it.

How long did he leave it going/how often did he use it?

Apparently TNT has no time for such rational solutions *sighs*

I don't know because he still denies using one, but he sent me a screenie once of his gold position on a trophy list, and at the top of the browser was an autorefresher, refreshing once every 2 minutes. From what I gather, he used it more often on other pages where it might benefit him (other people sent in screenies) and tnt froze him for it and told him that that was why.
