My account Dittomania got frozen. My friends told me this morning that someone was in my account and self froze. I already filled in the form to get it back. How long does it usually take?

awww, sorry to hear this. I think it takes several days but that is for famous neopians sitting in the top avatar collectors. I hope you get it back, and I hope not much damage was done in your account.

You dont know how someone got in was it a keylogger or easy password?

With all of these recent "account break-ins" that I keep hearing about, I have to wonder if TNT's decision to get rid of the security code is making it easier for nasty people to access accounts. With the big plushie gallery that I have, it makes me very nervous. So much that I am changing my password alot more frequently than I did before.

Anyway, please let me know if I can be of any help whatsoever--and please, don't let any pride get in the way. It easily could have been any one of us instead of you.

I totally agree. Why did they even take away the security code to begin with? Doesn't make much sense to me ... I don't see how taking it away could have benefited them in any way. It would seem that it would actually cause them more problems. No security code ---> more accounts being "hacked" ---> more emails to them. Ah'well TNT has never been famous for making sense.

Eep, I saw your post this afternoon on the BD chat board (I accidentally wandered in there) and felt really bad for the person, and didn't know it was a PPT'er, which makes it all the worse! Good luck!

Oh no! We need that security code back. I know it's not perfect and I know it won't stop someone really determined (I'm guessing) - but it was something.

I had this awful thought - that Dittomania was a target of that group Hahni (something like that). They apparently have a site with a forum and they post there and on the neoboards when they get into an account. I saw in one case on the neoboard that whoever did get into an account did plan to self-freeze it. I don't know how these horrible people are doing this, but they need to be stopped.

I am so sorry, I've read many of your posts on the bd (I'm a lurker more than anything) and I've seen you stand up for people and just in general you're a great person. You need anything, please do ask. I don't have alot, but hey, we're all in this together, right?

Oh, this is another case for NOT having those bottom ads - there was a google type ad and all the ads were for sites that would get passwords! No, I didn't go to any of them. But seems to me that kind of thing is just asking for trouble.
