The URL method goes like this.

1. You put the pet's name (EXACTLY, including any capitals) on the end of this url:
http://www.neopets.com/process_adopt.phtml?pet_name=

2. You enter the url and it should tell you the pet has an owner already. If it says you don't have enough np, get enough out!

3. You tell the other person to go ahead and abandon, and you start refreshing the URL as much as you can.

4. The second the pet hits the pound, you should get it automatically, and your browser should go to quickref to show the new pet.

It's never failed me yet!
