Yesterday while i was on trades, i came across one of dark_blade5000's trades. The item was an invisible petpet paintbrush , on his wishlist he stated (wrongfully) that it was worth over 178k but he'd be willing to take the best offer in the next 30 minutes no matter what. Unfortunately i was so excited i didnt check the wizard as i assumed that it really WAS worth as much as was stated. Unfortunately I bidded 60k which he accecpted, later to my horror i discovered that the item was only worth around 20k.
I was devastated. I immediately neomailed the user asking politely for a refund as his wishlist was misleading. unfortunately he refused and has since not replied to my neomails. Is this a reportable offence? Is it considered a scam if you state that something is worth over 100k if it really wasnt?

No it isn't really because you have the right to double check everything he is saying. Because you never checked to see what the real price of the item was you kind of got screwed.

All I can say is better to learn with only 60k and not 600k... Just make sure you double nay triple next time...

Sorry

That is not reportable, I'm afraid. Well, learn from your mistakes and don't get cheated in the future! :)

The thing about trades is the person has the right to ask whatever they want for an item. It is buyer beware when it comes to how much an item is actually worth. Always check other TP posts as well as the Wiz and the Auction Genie before making an offer.

Even if your offer is extremely good, there is no guarantee that a person will accept it.

I am sorry you spent so much :(

At least you didn't accept an offer on an item worth 550K for a Roe Sushi because the TP said it was worth much more when you could buy it in the Wiz for less than 15K. I know some people who were suckered by that ploy.
