I haven't posted in a while. But those pics are great. I like the narwhale and all the angler fish. Well Narwhales are cute, like flotsams.
I know there is this one snail they call the cigarette snail, and it has an arm on it that can shoot out and sting a fish. And if it stings you, you *might* can smoke a cigarette before you die...
I think that was a pic of it up there[/img]

That's actually a cone shellfish. It shoots a harpoon at you, and you die. I've never heard of this "cigarette snail" but I get the feeling it's the same thing.

People tend to step on them. The harpoon can go through the soles of your shoes. The ocean wants to give you a great big hug. ;)

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

You also get the short-lived satisfaction of knowing you've just been offed by a SNAIL.

Here's another one of my favorites, the blue-ringed octopus. It bites you, and you die. When it's about to bite, its rings flare up blue.

You can survive the bite of a blue-ringed octopus, just so long as someone is constantly giving you CPR (for like eight hours straight) and they never, ever give up. That might get tiring for them, since they'll think they're feebly trying to revive a dead person. You'll look dead, you won't be breathing, but you will have a pulse, and you'll be consciously aware of everyone around you believing you're dead, though you can't move or speak. After several hours of CPR, the poison will eventually leave your system.

I've heard about blue-ringed octopus, that thing is very small, right? The longest ever been found is only 30cm, I think.

Am I the only one who wants one as a pet?

No, you aren't unfortunately. They're pretty popular in the exotic aquarium business, which is risky for people who don't know how to handle them.

You can swim with sharks, and still worry more about these. *shiver* I had to cover up completely when I went swimming (gloves, socks ect) Good thing too, I saw one >_< Wasn't close to me though, and bigger than that. . .

The Gulper Eel. Comapared to a pelican, because its mouth is HUGE. Imagine meeting up with one of those.

Image

It's called a Sea Spider, but it's not really a spider, it just looks like one. The body is so small that it stores a lot of organs in its legs.

I love stuff like this! :P

The Cookie Cutter shark.
So named because it takes cookie cutter like bites out of live seals (and leaves them alive). Last I heard none had been found alive or seen alive; they just wash up on shore.

The wound they leave (this one on an elephant seal).

Woah, those cookie cutter sharks sound nasty! Funny name though. They look like little worms to me with an electrical razor in their mouth. And those eyes freak me out. O_O

That's odd how no one has ever seen one alive. I'm guessing that they're pretty rare.
