How can he be a nice guy when he says neopet addicts are stupid? Whether his info is true or not doesn't anger me as much as the fact that he's saying unless we quit, we're idiots!

To understand that, you'd have to understand him.

He quit because he felt his friends were treated unfairly. He didn't want to see himself spending many years on the site working hard to have it taken away in an instant. So, as a personal statement, he quit.

He then started to think after he quit what a waste of time it was...and how many other things he could have done in the time he spent playing neo...he's just voicing his opinion.

I myself am an "addict" as Dave puts it...and I can see his point. But the guy is still my friend...even if he isn't on Neo anymore.

And you're only seeing a small fraction of the picture...those quotes are from his "Dark side of Neopets" section....why not go and read the hard work he put into the "NP making guide" section. I promise you won't find a more comprehensive guide to making NP *on every level* anywhere- he worked hard on that to share with people he felt could use the information....I remember how long he spent trying to put every little detail on those pages. Back then it was all password protected. He allowed myself and another mutual friend Hooi to give out the page and pass as well.

He's since moved on to making real money....I wish I had his drive. The man is fantastic with stock speculation, totally blows me away.

Doesn't give him the right to call us stupid! I fix the problem of neopets being unfair by doing neopets-related things OUTSIDE the site! My webcomic is a very good example becasue it stars two neopets, but the neopets team can't control what I have them do! Granted, it won't be anything rated R or higher, but I can have whatever I want happen and neopets can't stop me!

You have to keep in mind when he wrote that he was VERY bitter.

I really don't want to go into personal details about it here, Dave's business is his own. I'm not going to hang up his dirty laundry without him around to try to justify why he wrote what he did.

But if you think in that quote he's calling you stupid, as in a personal attack on you, yourself, well...that's your call.

But judging him and jumping to conclusions about how well he played based on a few blurbs he wrote 2 years ago, that's not exactly peachy either.

Oh theseus? what a great person! I used to go to the trade chat and he was always there, always the first to help, give advice, joke with, and a very intelligent person too! I was on the boards the night he quit. It did get intense; every topic he made got deleted which did nothing to help convince him to stay.

I remember the tp lots he had made as "memorials" to alot of people who'd been unfairly (truly unfairly) frozen - things like the big game glitch, etc. A loyal and dedicated friend is what he was and we need more people like that on the site.

His guide to np making is incredible, detailed and in-depth. All done fairly and honestly, which is the way he always played the game. And he was truly elite, there is no other word for him.

Actually he was the person who confirmed the level reset rumor to me. I hadn't been on the boards at all when it happened, I just knew/know what I've read and heard.

Agree or disagree with what anyone writes, that is having an opinion, free will and a sense of what is, to you, good or bad, right or wrong.

There's alot of "hate" sites that are anti-neo, or anti-any other site. Some are written by people who were frozen/banned/whatever for something they did wrong but refuse to admit it - even to themselves.

Personally, I take most of these sites with a grain of salt.

Dave is a card allright. Dark humour at it's best. He's a bit of a wise aleck, so ya can't take all his stuff seriously, most of it is laden with sarcasm.

Anyhow, sorry for getting my feathers in a ruffle over this...just that I tend to show claws when friends are involved...trust me, if it was any of you guys here on PPT that I hold dear being talked about on some other board, I'd be fluffing my fur for you guys too.

Yup, the frozen collars, each with a name....

Dave is probably one of the best friends I've ever had on Neo, along with Hooi. He's an extremely good person...and probably one of the very very very few I'd trust COMPLETELY.

jeepers... i remember ad0. It was back when i used to be a neoboard New Member. and i was like "Whos this ado guy every1s talking bout? why is he so cool? lots of nps? he probably SCAMMED IT!" *because all New Member think everybody is out to scam everybody.* and then i learned who he was. And i stopped posting about him fearing for my account. Which ended up being scammed and taken over about 2 months later.

theres a lot of favoritism on neopets
and maybe maybe some it is being fueled by bribes or something even worse

all of the things ive red do far are being bolstered by past experiences
mainly most of the ppl supporting neo haven't had anythin bad happen to them and actually are thriving on their accounts

Neopets may have some shortcomings, but I think what that guy wrote on his webpage was over-cynical.

As for Ad0, I'm thankful that I was taking a sabbatical of Neo when he struck. Though hackers normally target well known people anyway.
