Did anybody else notice the conspiracy behind the new avatar.
Neopets release the garlic bread avatar.
garlic bread halves are only 200np on the shop wiz.
all of a sudden, half of neopets cant buy from shops.
also anybody else notice that the members who have all of the garlic bread halves in their stores now are the 'good' members.

The millions of people who were also trying to buy the same garlic bread halves you were trying to buy probably crashed the servers the shops were on, not a conspiracy to alienate the majority of their customers.

If the people don't have the money it's their problem. Everyone went throught this at one time or another. It's the same thing as saying "Only 20% of neopians can affors the darigan pb"

>also anybody else notice that the members who have all of the garlic >bread halves in their stores now are the 'good' members.
Why wouldn't they be?

sounds like rot to me - the news was only released at 11:30 pm - about an hour later I tried to buy a garlic bread half and was unable to - I doubt whether millions of people would have crashed the server in that short time - else this exact thing would happen every time a items based avatar was released.

the greed of people is just astounding. an item which was 120NP when I first tried to purchase it is now 24000NP. ridiculous.

people could afford it - the shops weren't working.

This avatar inflation is rediculus. Pretty soon all we're going to be able to feed our pets is chewing dung and fish pop milkshake! 24K for garlic bread... give me a break.

I know it seems harsh, but the increase in prices would happen anyway - it's a sign of a good free-market economy when demand increases value.

Look at Blue Evil Fuzzles, when the avatar was released - the durned things were up to 15k for 5 days afterwards. Now, they're down to...what? 2100nps?

Give it time. It's a secret avatar, and I doubt they'll retire this one.

I don't see a conspiracy, honest. I don't know what a "good" member is considered, but when searching the shop wiz last night I saw at least hundreds of shops with that item. Just no one could (with few exceptions) could buy any ... or anything else.

I found out about the "glitch" while trying to buy some codestones for training. Kept getting that error page, went to Help and saw all the topics so knew it wasn't just me.

Yes, there are people trying to take advantage of this glitch, that always happens when a new av is released unfortunately. There were also people on the boards last night who had extra bread in their sdb or who restocked in Food who were giving the bread to others. So not everyone's being greedy.

Shapu gives an excellent example with the evil fuzzle. Most av items do drop back down to normal prices in a fairly short period of time. And this item, the bread, is a fairly common item.

And the shop thing isn't the only glitch, there's also the search glitch. I think something just happened and unfortunately it happened late at night when there's not staff or alot of staff around. I'm sure as soon as they can be, these will be fixed. Yes, the servers should be working better, but at the same time, servers can do some bizarre things with no warning. As long as it's not a People losing things forever glitch, I'm content to wait.

I sold 5 of mine for 20k, bub. I didn't ask for anything, but that's what people bid. :) They are just as greedy as me.
