Powerpets vs Neopets. THE first move

It's not like Adam went and said to PowerPets "Oh hey you copied off of me and you stink you smelly poo-people"

And if they were really smelly poo-people, they would really be copying Adam (those "I smell of poo!" stickies on his computer, and other references)

I agree with what's been said, PowerPets is just a jealous Neopets rip-off that wishes it could be what Neopets has become.

I am bestunned. I agree with vinylraven, taking such a cheap shot at Neopets and then covering their butts to avoid a lawsuit is pretty low.

Anywho, I do think Neopets is above a comeback article... and I really hope that the villian "Padam" and "Adam" is purely coincidental.

This isn't the way to improve a lesser known site. The fact that you have to pay real cash for items, on top of how slanderous (sattire is not that bitter... they went for the throat, here) this article is, has probably prevented me from ever signing up with powerpets. The people who run it just don't seem that mature.

Hmm... I used to like Powerpets. I stopped playing, as they never quite had the stickiness of Neopets. A long time ago, (as in several years ago) their main goal was to increase awareness of animal cruelty. Now, obviously, that has changed.

I've never been to or heard of powerpets, but right on. If anything like that is mentioned on Neopets or anyone decides to bring up any form of complaint against Neopets you're automatically iced. Good for them for saying what most people are thinking. Granted..I like Neopets..it keeps me occupied when I am bored, but man...that article hit the nail on the head.

They also talk to you on the forums which the owners of neopets don`t do. They also care about their users. Thus powerpets is better in my opinion. Im sorry but it is . I know that borovan has been seen using the Neoboards... and he does have a PPT account here... to talk to us users... and Snowflake has a writing forum outside of Neopets; OH and Donna and Snarkie have an account here at PPT as well, but I guess that doesn't count as talking to the users.

well, we all have different opinions. powerpets to me seems like neopets when it started out; simple graphics, not a lot to do, small, etc. also, before neopets became so big and commercial, they did seem more personal and like they cared. in my opinion, they still try. it seems like adam and donna care by coming here to talk to us.

Yes, I know you don't care what I say (as you stated) but I have two cents that are burning a hole in my pocket. I personally think Donna and Adam don't go on the Neoboards because... well.. hellooo! They're the NEOBOARDS. They may have created them, but they're not stupid. They know there are a lot of people who like to yell and scream and spam them out there. I heard there was a certain incident there involving Adam and that Mystery Island Plot. Now I didn't go on the Neoboards at that point in time, as I was not old enough, but I saw the words "ppor Adam" in enough places to know SOMETHING had happened. The staffers come here to blab about stuff because they know only real Neopets fans would bother to join, and they know we lurve and worship them, not desire to cuss them out.

Also did you know that when PP started NP had a sign up neopoint offer thing for them? I think in some ways NP and PP are like siblings, they might not always get along and pick on each other; however, they are related and have value none the less.

Ok number 1, I dont care what anyone says but Neopets have to generate cash for the site from somewhere, the spyware had nothing to do with neopets and adam even took them down as soon he found out about it. Ok the banner ads arent the greatest idea and Im sure that there are plenty of other ways to get money but if powerpets ever become as huge as neopets they are going to need extra cash too, to pay for the servers and more staff to keep the site running.

People say that neopets has gone too commercial, well if they hadnt then the site probably wouldnt exist, it has an amazing amount of users (yes I am taking into account all of the frozen accounts) and they need to have an awful lot of staff and servers to keep us all happy. The site would have died along time ago if it was just Adam and Donna running it with no income.

2. No one knows for sure whether neo uses freezing bots or if it is down to human error, and no one knows for sure whether 'some' accounts are really 'unfairly frozen' (and im not disputing that this does happen btw) but again, they have an incredible amount of accounts to keep an eye on and when a site is as huge as neopets it does tend to attract the less honest people shall we say?! As well as leave a larger margin for error. ( A smaller site may also decide to not freeze people for certain mis-demeanors in order to not lose players)

3. Adam comes on here to read and answer posts, seeking advice from neopians and he does listen to what we have to say. He doesnt even own neopets anymore and yet I have seen him in the early hours of the morning (his time) and weekends giving up his free time to do the best that he can to ensure we can play neopets and to take on board comments and suggestions. If that isnt dedication then I dont know what is!
