What is the defination of "rich", how much np do you have to have before you can reach this level?

There really isn't a level for 'rich'

Rich is usually defined around 10 million though.

When I first started playing, the very first day I thought...wow...100k is rich!

A week later, when I had 200k, I thought...wow....a million is RICH!

When I had a million, I thought....10 million is rich!

When I got there, and saw people with 50 mill....I thought that was "rich!"

It never ends, the more you have, the more you still DON'T have. Thus is the addiction of the game.

Rich=more than you have.

Yikes, I remember a time when "rich" was having around 5mil - which is the highest bracket at the National Neopian!

I would agree that "rich" people nowadays have about 10mil+
Once you have about ~2mil sitting comfortably in your bank, though, it feels pretty good. Once I reached that point, I was quite happy. You can buy plenty of things, and easily use the NP you have to grow more NP!

Rich is being able to buy what you want without cringing when hitting the 'buy' button.

I'd agree that 10 mil+ is "rich," but if you have a million or three, you're doing pretty well. Let's call it "comfortable."



Hee. If that's the case, I'll never be rich! No matter how many points I get, I still get mad if I'm down 10K on Bilge Dice -- even though it's a tiny fraction of my total NP, I hate parting with it. I don't know why I bother hoarding virtual money, but I do (I make up for it by spending all my money in real life, heh).

Yeah, comfortable is good, actually achievable for some people

If I turn everything I have into nps I probably have over 10mil but I still dont think I'm rich lol Not exactly feeling comfortable either... Let's call it "greed" XD

Rich.... well, there's several definitions.

Like most people, when I first joined 100k was 'rich' to me. (But I joined back when Hypno Helmets were buyable) After a while, I earned 1mil, and discovered that I still wasn't 'rich'. I know people who have 5mil, and most of them don't consider themselves rich. To me, rich basically means you've made enough money to buy most of the things you want, and have a couple million left over for impulse purchases. But the general assumption is, you're not rich unless you have almost as much as featheralley does. The only true 'rich' people I know of have enough money to buy H4ks in bulk to jack up the price, and have purchased Super Attack Peas with plenty of np left over.

Rich for me is at least 10 million.

well, rich generally means you have more than more than enough money. Not that you have alot, but that you have enough to last you for a looooong time.

i would say 1 million nps would not be rich... many people have that much *many many dont... but many do.* and due to inflation, 1 million nps cant even get you most of the cool things.

I would say rich would be 10 million. Sounds extreme, but thats what you need to get all the things you want..... *which is being rich*.

Personally, I was taught that a person in society never talks about how much they make, how much they have, etc. It is just not polite. And can really make people feel inadequate and/or jealous.

Nonetheless, I think "rich" is a relative term. It really depends on how many hours a week you can realistically play the game. Sure, there are people who play 16 hours a day and, my guess, is that they are very, very rich--but some of us can't play anything even close to that number of hours. And, some people never spend their neopoints on anything--so, of course, they would have more nps than a person who has a sinsis sword, honey potion and expensively painted pets--or someone who has invested 30-40 million in their gallery but may only have 1 million in their bank account.

Personally, I don't think any amount is ever enough--so sooner or later, you have to come to terms with that--or you will drive yourself crazy. There will always be the 20 million np battle item that you absolutely have to have or the item for your gallery that costs 10 million and of which only 10 are in existence. No way will you ever afford it--so best to realize that early on and be happy with whatever you can manage to earn.

And, trust me, I say this not out of jealousy or because I don't have nps/expensive items. Those who know me know that I do--more than I could have ever possibly imagined when I first started playing this game. I just hate seeing people get so wrapped up in what they have and what they don't have--so that they no longer can have fun at the game because they will "never be rich enough."

I don't consider myself rich, but I am in one of the upper interest brackets
(has "mega" in the title, and that's all I am saying). I know I could double or triple my NP in the bank if I wanted to sell the BoD I got when I beat the insane level on NQ II, but even though I don't feel "rich enough" to spring for the Halloween PB I want to use on the Aisha in my gallery, I like where I am now and know I will eventually get where I want with out having to sacrifice anything.

Well, my thinking is that - what is the point in having 20 million NP if you never intend to spend it and only want to horde it?

Yes, it would be quite nice to have that much and I would probably have a lot more "pure" NP if I didn't sink my NP into things like a gallery shop, training my pets, and furnishing my neohome and gardens. o.0 I figure that if I have this currency, I should use it for things that I want to get instead of just staring at the balance and sighing "oh, how I wish this was real cash. I'll just save it until I can get even more."
