It seemd after Neopets ever goes down there are a LOT of errors that follow. From the trading post to SDB to even the bank. This should not be taking place. The Neopets Staff needs to relize that people are losing millions (neopoints ;) ) with these errors.

Their software isn't infallible, you do play at your own risk ;). There's a reason why debugging/testing is the longest part of software development. If these glitches worry you, then don't use those after a major glitch. Because there isn't a magic wand that will fix it, it takes looking at large amounts of code to figure out the problem.

Think of it this way....would you rather have the website be down all the time, while they fixed all of it, or have a portion to play with? Besides....a rollback (or whatever they did), is much nicer then a complete wipe, right? So be happy that didn't happen :)

I'm pretty sure they do recognize that, and they're trying their best to get everything sorted out. ;)

In the meantime, don't do anything that could potentially cause a loss for you. If you recognize that there are problems with a specific part of the site, play it safe and stay away from there.

Having just lost 700K (items and NP) in the "rollback" I really think that TNT could have been kind enough to have put something up on the news to let members know what is going to be done to rectify this,

I sent in a bug report but heard nothing... sure they probably have millions, but if they can put up other news, why cant they let us know the status of these massive problems, and what is going to be done.

Its just so disconcerting,

SS:)

This is what I meant when I said they need to relize what is ahppening. They need to let us know what is going on. I'd much rather hear about this then how Sloth has taken over the daily news!

I highly doubt we'll be getting anything back. From what it looks like, the database that stores all the current info crashed (rather spectacularily) and they couldn't recover it. So they used the last backup data which was however long ago.

So pretty much, we can't get out stuff back, and moping about it wont help. I lost about 30k worth of stuff, but I don't really care too much, it's all codestones and other stuff I got in random events, and besides, it's a game. It's no fun if you can't enjoy it, and once one gets obsessive about it, it stops being fun, and no point in playing.

Wasnt it last Thanksgiving that the huge Trading Post glitch hit? Never got stuff back from that, and have never heard of anyone other than the well known BD'ers get anything back.

On another note, since the database crash, I have noticed a lot more non-neo related ads on the top bar.

All of this makes for even more frustration, especially when there isnt supposed to be but what 3% non-neo related ads?

Well the 3% must be the only ones I get.

Actually, yesterday, the 17th, was the one year anniversary of the TP glitch. I remember it so well because my daughter's birthday is on the 18th and I was just about ready to get her a PB to celebrate.

And, here's my two cents about this glitch: I lost at least 200K to it. So, since I started playing this game, that now totals about 1.2 million lost to glitches. You can call me crazy but I kept playing, despite the glitches.

I don't know if I will be able to say that this time. This last glitch really took the wind out of my sails. It is extremely frustrating to work like a madwoman to earn 200K in points--to have it taken away just because I unknowingly did something over the weekend that would cost me those nps: put items in my safety deposit. Something that I have done a thousand times before without a problem--yet this one time--kiss 'em goodbye. That is what is so frustrating about this game. That a random glitch can hit you at any time and, theoretically, could wipe you out.

I don't understand why Neo insisted on putting bells and whistles up the wazoo on this game when it is apparent that they were not properly tested beforehand. I would much rather have had a quiet birthday celebration with no new free spins, 5X game plays, and random-event-a-minute-athons than to have lost the 200K that I did--and have to worry about the "what-if's"--and see lots of other players going through what they are right now.

And, I don't understand why the game isn't backed up more often. This would have alleviated a lot of the loss--if the rollback had been to Monday night instead of Friday night.

And, I don't understand why Neo doesn't have some sort of a policy of returning lost items to owners--they should at least make the attempt rather than just shrug their shoulders, blush, and say "Duh, we goofed again."

Finally, I don't understand why some of you PPTers are being so unkind to those who have lost a great deal due to this glitch. Just because it didn't hit you or hit you only slightly doesn't give you the right to tell someone else to just deal with their loss. Next time, the glitch could hit you, you know.

I agree.

No one is safe from glitches, no matter how hard you work, no matter how hard you try, things happen, and it is beyond out control, glitches can strike at the time you least think possible, I would also like to add that I lost one of the new Goodie Bags.

I was upset greatly, but then again, thats life.

I also wish that they would atleast make some attempt to get them back, like Morningstar said, 'instead of just shrugging them off'

Thats the thing, Its certainly not easy to tell two 8 year olds ( we play together) that all their hard work has resulted in them losing so much.

It worries me that the NP stuck in the Trading post atm is also going to be lost..
