Like anyone but the truly gullible would ever believe her "*coughcough* I'm sick *coughcough*" story.

Poor poor little rich girl got caught and is now all over the news looking like a liar, a loser, and a moron.

Ashlee Simpson was singing on her show and I thought she sucked and sounded COMPLETELY different than her music.

I watched it. Well her 'Autobiography' performance. In the beginning of it, 'Piece of Me' started to play and Ashlee was like, "Guys! This is the wrong song," than she looked at the crowd and said, "Just kiddin'!" and she began to sing 'Autobiography'. She was okay, not awesome but not completely awful.

Wow. I was wondering how she would handle it. I guess that's the best thing she could have done-- make fun of herself and hope that people laugh <i>with</i> her this time. Ch. She wishes.

Actually, I thought it was a cheap gesture that insulted my intelligence. Her strategy is to make light of it and therefore convince us that it isn't really a big deal. Notice in her parody, her "voice" never came on singing the song. She's acting like the lipsynching thing isn't an issue. That said, I probably would have done the same thing. So far, it's fooled quite a few people.

She's told her side of the story in articles and on the Today Show. It doesn't really wash. She claimed that her acid-reflux made it so she could barely speak during the show. Well, then why -- at the end of the show -- was she able to express her blame for her band so clearly?

I am getting annoyed at Ashlee Simpson now because she is just making up excuses, and blah blah blah. Did she have the decency to admit to miming or lip-synching, or whatever it is? As far as I'm aware, no, she hasn't. (I apologise if she has, but I doubt it.) As for blaming it on her band..*shakes head* Would have been funny if the band abandoned her.



Oh come on Kim, I mean pink guitars are sooooooooooo PUnK rOcK!!!!11!1!1111!! So obviously Ashlee Simpson has to have one for her guitarist, as she is so punky. *ahem* I love to take the mick out of her. *grin*

-whips tear from eye- My friend Laura is a big fan of her and she will not except the fact that, Ashley's "voice" probably isn't her voice. Shes like "No. Some times they play the track in the background." I'm like "Well. They played it really loud."
I don't really like her. She may not want to be like her sister but the fact is she is.

From what I hear, they touch up her voice like Britney Spears. The poor girl isn't going to have any choice but the quit.

EDIT- My dad just came up with a good point. If she has to lipsync, she should've deserve a career.

Hehe, this is all great, it reminds me of some kind of witchhunt, or something where the local folk of a small village try to drive out a stranger. Hopefully you know what I mean. I can see it now, Ashlee Simpson standing there, on her own, surrounded by people with clubs, and fire, and farmers with pitchforks. Ahh..random.

I wouldn't have minded the lip syncing had she come out and apologized.

I'm very sorry about all of that. I did not feel up to singing for [whatever reason she wanted to spout off] and I thought I could take the easy way out. That was disrespectful to SNL and to all of you. I made an error in judgement and I'm sorry.

Or sometihng like that, whatever. But no, she blamed it on her band and that was just not cool.
