So... you've got a few choices here...

1) Warp back in time to the last thread.

2) Take a look at the In-Depth NeoQuest Guide.

3) Jump on over to the Neoquest 2 Not-So-Newbie Guide, with thanks to Alex

4) Or! Come here for help :)

So. what's everyone's best stragedy when it comes to the faeries? I'm on level 49, and it's taking a REALLY long time to level up now. They keep hitting Rohane with slowing him 64% and Mesmerizing my party. I've tried 5 times now with no avail. My best is I've killed the water faerie and the fire faerie but I can't seem to get any further >_<

My stratgey for my last game was this:

Buy lots and lots of slow and haste potions from the guy by the Brain Tree.

Slow all the faeires with the potions. This is one I'd neglected the first two times I fought them -- although I usually slow bosses in fights, it never occured to me to do it against 4 of them. It takes a LOT of potions to keep them slowed and a lot of turns, but it seemed to make a BIG difference. At least, the Faeries went down a lot easier for me in Insane (where I slowed them) than the did in Evil (when I didn't).

Haste your party with potions. Usually I prefer to slow the bosses first, then haste my party. With the Faeries it's at least 4 turns either way, though, so maybe it doesn't matter as much.

Kill the Faeries left to right, starting with the Dark Faerie who Mesmerizes. She's the most dangerous -- if she hits Velm you're in trouble. Then comes the Fire Faerie with those 100-point Obliviate hits. Then Water, then Earth last.

I was level 49 when I took out the Faeries this way in Insane and it was a piece of cake.

Another popular strategy is to take a few points in Mesmerization for Velm (either from skill points or an enchanted staff) and Mesmerize one or more of the Faeries, usually the Water Faerie. I've never found this to be necessary, though. (I actually was planning to do this in Insane and then forgot to equip Velm with the staff that gave him points in Mesmerization... oops. Turned out to be easy enough without it, though.)

Faeries kicked me bad until I approached fighting them in the right order. I reccommend Digfort's Explaination:

Just beat Chapter 1 on Insane. I'm really amazed at how much more work it is just to stay alive in this game.

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

Grrr. It's because when I got my own website, I didn't log into my Angeltowns account anymore.

I'll see if it's at all possible to find another copy and I'll put it up again.

You should be fine like that. I'm pretty sure I was level 41-42.

Is he that tough? I creamed him on just level 39, and could do so quite easily on level 38 too (evil diff.)

I didn't think so - I found most of the bosses in act three and four (what I've played of act four) to be relatively easy.

Hum, I have a question for the nq2 players out there:

Talinia: Slowing strikes or Multiple targets?

Slowing strikes is a crappy skill, I know, but it's more useful against Terask II than Multiple Targets (slightly), as multiple targets confers no benefit whatsoever, and slowing strikes seems to "stack" ontop of slowing potions (I had +2 or something on his bow last time). Any comments/suggestions? multi-targets IS better for most of the game, but the bit you really need the skills for is Terask so... I'm not sure.
