Maulior who had been making his way to the kitchen stopped upon hearing the announcement. Cancelling his wish to get some hot chocolate for himself, he turned and climbed up to the bridge.
Dila had been watching from afar, taking shelter under a shady tree, when the squad hijacked the ship for their use. Well, well, they're not as goody-goody as I thought they were after all... a smile played on her lips. Still, unless she got suitable transport of her own, she was going to have trouble keeping up with them. Dila looked about. In the commotion the squad had caused, the owners of the other boats had gone over to join the mob of angry people who were trying to stop the ship from taking off.
Seizing the golden opportunity, Dila ran off quickly to one of the smaller boats. For one, bigger boats meant more maintainence, and she wasn't really willing to waste that much of time on a boat. Tearing off the rope which connected the boat to the dock, Dila ran inside, looking around. It was very small, one small cabin and a steering room. There was also a little kitchen and an attached bathroom. Dila entered the steering room, and kicked started the engine of the boat. It roared to life, and at that sound Dila grabbed the steer. The boat started to move. Dila cursed slightly, wishing the boat would go faster. The Squad's ship was disappearing around the bend of the fast-flowing river.
After a while her boat started picking up speed, but she was careful not to go too close, to avoid suspicion. As she surveyed the boat more, Dila regretted choosing it. For one, it's technology was quite limited, compared to some of the luxurious ships she had been on. The cabin was too simple for her liking, it had one desk and chair, a bed and a cupboard with only one drawer at the bottom. There was a little window, with worn curtains. The auto-pilot features were limited. The kitchen had a little fridge and a stove, with a counter where one was supposed to have meals at. Checking the only cabinet and few drawers, Dila found a few tins of food, some instant food and a few bottles of water but that was it.
She leaned back against the kitchen wall and sighed. She would need to stop for rations soon enough. It would be best to stop when the squad decided to stop to replenish their supplies, so she wouldn't lose them. One problem though. It may be a while before they decided to stop by at a town near the river. Their ship looked big, and probably had lots of supplies in it.
