Eh, I've been having a few more problems since my crazy system recovery.

I tried opening Microsoft Word today, and it gave the error 'This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.' I reinstalled (after completely uninstalling) it, and it continued to give the error. It gives this message for all Microsoft Works programs, even though they all worked fine before the system recovery.

My printer isn't seeming to work either. Every time it is turned on, or the computer is turned on, Windows Installer comes up and says 'Configuring' and 'Preparing to install.' However, when I try to print/scan/anything, it fails. I reinstalled the drivers and followed the troubleshooter steps to fix it, but the results I got from that were only temporary.

Basically, I need help getting my printer to connect to my computer and for Microsoft Works to actually work.

Urgh.. adware.. "hard to uninstall" adware.. -_-

It's called 180solutions. I accidentally downloaded to my computer through a music file (NEVER DOWNLOAD MUSIC ONLINE!) Anyone know of a way to get rid of it? I tried Ad-aware but it just keeps on coming back after I delete it.
Now.. it depends where you get it.. but yes, as others say, use ad-aware and spybot. (BTW, use Firefox. It's way safer)

Ummm.. its been a while since i've been to ppt.. and no I don't play neopets anymore.. since 2004

Windows ME is the most horrible and buggy OS Microsoft ever made, unclekykky, is right, it's actually be better to have just 98, or 2000 or XP if possible.

If you dodn't have the installation disc your in trouble though...but if you do, and you weant to kill everything on your hardrive then just boot from the disk on startup, it should do that automatically though. But uh, then you just follow installation instructions and all.

Spywareblaster is nice, because it keeps things from getting on your cmputer, but I don't think thats excactly what you were looking for...hmm...well there is a program called: Spyware Sweeper, I think you have to pay for it though.

Download.com has section just for sadware/spyware protection prgrams, heres a link: http://www.download.com/Spyware-Center/2001-2023-0.html?tag=dir

in adaware you can choose not to search the registry.

Since these are no longer temporary forums, I will update my signature.

I'll second the SpywareBlaster program. It's done wonders to block out certain hijackers and stuff. =)

I don't know if this was what Articfox meant, but you could also try Spysweeper. Go to the Webroot site ( http://www.webroot.com ) to download it. In case you're wondering, you do have to pay for their full version but the free one does a good job.

By the way, it seems like Adaware released their SE Personal Edition. If you don't have that, go ahead and get it and try it out. For some reason, it doesn't seem to work on my comp; it freezes up on certain files or folders.

I've seen that problem happen before. His monitor might be old and can't handle the video settings set in Windows, or his video card is actually fried.

I'm having problems lately, uninstalling programs. Everytime I try to unistall or delete a program, it says it's in use or it's un-deletable. I can't delete Adobe Photoshop CS or Adobe Illustrator along with Sierra (Game Company). How do I delete them?
