I just heard a good one the other day that I need to apply to my life:
"When what you want and what you expect are at odds, you get what you expect." So expect the best, basically. You can take that too far, of course, but these days I don't tend to take it far enough.
Bison, I like Emerson too. My favorite quote of his is, "Above all to thine own self be true." (I think that's Emerson.)
Another of my philosophies on life is sort of metaphorical: "My dad once told me that my cluttered desk was a sign of a cluttered mind. I asked him what his empty desk meant." (I think that might be Terry Pratchett, but I'm not sure.) It's sort of a rationalization for my messiness, I guess.

I got a few
" A room without books is like a body without a soul"- meaning something like if you dont do what you love you shall be without a soul untill you do
" A life without friends is like a garden without flowers"- meaning something like if you live without friends your life shall be empty and pointless
" What goes around comes around"-meaning somthing like you just have to accept life like it is and do what you can with it or even eventually its going to happen to you sooner or later so let it happen now
