All today and yesterday, PPT has been very slow - pages taking a minute or more to load.
This isn't happening with any other websites that I'm visiting.

Xyzzy, you're not the only one experiencing. I've been having a terrible time today. So terrible that I've actually been trying to stay away from the forum. I just can't deal with it. It's laggier than Maple Story. Gah!

I blame Kym.

Hmm seems fine on my end. Are any of you guys still experiencing this? If so I'll notify the host.

I'm not lagging.

I am still lagging big time.

I've been lagging too. Although today it hasn't been so bad.

Still a little laggy, but it's on and off today. Nowhere near yesterday where it took forever.

I seem to get lagging issues on pages where it needs to draw from a database. The sectors of PPT like the avatar catalogue especially take time to update their database with my new avatars. Also, it doesn't help that PPT has so many things to load on each page, cutting down on that wouldn't be such a bad idea.

What do you mean by "so many things to load on each page"?

Currently the PPT Gallery, Webcam, and the whole sidebar on the right side can be fixed to something less overwhelming. Although it is cached, it brings up the amount a user has to download in order for PPT to run smoothly. Not only that but it brings up the bandwidth the PPT is using.
The amount of ads and images is just ridiculous to the amount that PPT could have. I know that ads are necessary as a large site like this sucks up a bunch of bandwidth, but the additional images all over don't add to the equation. Although PPT does not run on a large database right now because it is static, the front page could be cut down to half it's size, including the subpages.
Although it makes a few seconds of a difference on the pages, PPT's bandwidth would go down. Less bandwidth, less money, smaller ads, better runs.
