Strange New Battledome Ideas 0.o

Bah humbug.

I was bored, so I started imagining what the BD could be like, and what kind of stuff could be added to it, so on. Then I decided to put it all down, keep a record of it. Then I found, I had so many points, I had to organise it somehow. So I made this.

It's like a guide for it, as if it is already existing. I found it was better to that than write "It should" every two sentences.

It's like my own little battledome in theory. Something cool and interesting in my eyes. I spend a good few rainy days making this.

And eventually (months later), I decided to post it here, and see what everyone thought.

This is just something I did because I was bored, please remember that. I don't even agree with a lot of the stuff I wrote there anymore :P

Color-abilities? Cool, paint my pet silver and reflect light :P

I'm really liking the chance to make abilities more useful. I've got a pet who's intelligence I raise a lot, and it'd be sweet to see him kick butt with magic.

I also like the armor idea. Heck, I like the whole thing! Adam? Donna? Snarkie? Any of you guys reading this? Oh, and I've got minor skills in programming, wouldn't mind learning more, and would love to help implement this, especially if a paycheck was involved.

I do not like the idea of it be a downloadable program. There is just too great of a possibility someone will be able to hack into it and exploit it during a war.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about too. Which is why I thought something Runescape-ish might work. You know, like Java or Flash in the browser. People can still hack that, but it's not as easy. The only other problem with that is that the graphics will be kinda crappy if it were a browser game, but most people can live with that :D

Yeah, I was hoping someone might like the whole ability remake. Right now, they're severely underused, IMO. I've actually got a little chart with possible abilities I started work on at the same times as this. I just can't quite find it yet :x

But alas, I can't see this thing going past just theory. It'd be one heck of a project for TNT to accomplish, and it'd mean hiring about 50 new staff. But on the other hand, it'd complely remake the Battledome :P

Technically they could, but how about this. What if all the program did was send information to the server in a very generic way. For example, using 2 weapons, it'd send that you used the 1st item in your inventory, then the 3rd one. Same goes for abilities, each one has a number according to when you equipped it. This way, the only possible thing anyone could send is among what they have. All damage calculations could also take place on the server, so hacking that would be out of the question as well.

I'm not much of a techie, but that looks like it might work :D Yeah, that really sounds pretty good. But there's still the chance that people will be able to find something to hack.

Bah, I should've put this into GC, then more people would've read it :P

just imagine if they made bd weapons useless lol be some mad people,or maybe they could try going in the rpg direction kinda like neoquest earn abilties and stuff etc etc,buying overpriced weapons these days suck...

Heheh, it didn't take me weeks, just a couple of minutes of spare time whenever I decided to squeeze it in. Whenever I'm bored I get a sudden urge to make stuff. Either that or go to sleep.

:D I can imagine that, and the havoc it'd cause all the people who rely on selling weapons tomake a profit. That's why I'm doubting the existance of this BD even more. But hey, if any of you have any ideas you wanna add to it, or whatever, just tell me and I might chuck it in.

Health in the new dome should be seriously revised. In most RPG games, health is usually 40 or 50 times that of the characters strength, Magic, etc. I am simply suggesting that in the New Dome, HP should be doubled or tripled the amount that is shown on the website. This will allow for much greater flexibility and increase the duration of battles, especially for newbies.
what? then even majal_kita couldn't defeat punchbag bob in one hit!

:D yeah, but then, you'll be dealing double the damage you normally deal anyway, so it evens out... sort of.

I mean, if you use 2 abilities + 2 weapons +1 armour, you've got the potential to
*block 1 or 2 icons with the armour
*Do damage with both weapons
*Do damage with both abilities
