I'm still debating on what to make. I think the Faerie Food looks the best on the site, but it's hard to make >.<

You can use fruit roll ups for wings and just stick that onto your food. It might help to make the wings ahead of time and freeze them so they won't droop when you take a picture.

Anybody got any information on borovan? I want to make something with borovan, but I'm not sure exactly how to go about it. It's like cocoa, right? Anyone got any tips?

Actually, I was thinking about borovan pavlova, but I need to figure out what to use in place of borovan, since I don't really know what it is and I'm pretty sure I can't find it here in Canada. I was thinking cocoa powder, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Erin, for you, I will reveal the secret to synthesizing borovan. The best substitute is 1 T of vanilla, 1 t of black walnut extract, and 1/4 t - 1/2 t of ground cloves. Add a teaspoon of honey. Boil (a microwave works) the mixture until it is consistent, and just add it to any normal recipe. There's NOTHING like my Borovan Brownies. I'll post the recipe now because I'm sure I wont win without a digital camera.

Ingredients
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon - ground cloves
1 teaspoon – Black Walnut extract
2 teaspoons – vanilla
1 teaspoon - honey
1 cup - C&H Pure Cane Golden Brown Sugar, packed
1/2 cup - butter or margarine (1 stick), softened
2 - eggs
2 oz. - unsweetened chocolate (2 squares), melted
1/2 cup - all-purpose flour
3/4 cup - walnuts, coarsely chopped

Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Mix together cloves, black walnut, honey, and vanilla in a stove or microwave-safe container. Stir until consistent.
Warning: do not drink the Borovan at this time. It is highly concentrated and won’t taste good
Put the mixed Borovan aside to cool.
Grease 8x8x2-inch square baking pan.
In mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter until fluffy.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Beat in chocolate, then flour, and then Borovan
Stir in nuts
Pour into pan.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool in pan and cut into squares.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar
Makes around one dozen brownies

Please make them and comment

Faerie Fondant

Image

lol, well, too easy to make, and I bet I'm not the only one who thought of it.

Ingredients
-Chocolate
-2 Graham Crackers
-Jumbo Marshmallows
-Icing/Frosting

Steps
1. Place a marshmallow and 2 pieces of your prefered chocolate on one graham cracker.
2. Microwave from about 30-40 seconds.
3. Remove and place the other graham cracker on-top of the melted ingredients above.
4. Get your icing/frosting, and drizzle on a nice silhouette of your favorite faerie.

Some extra things you can do is use chocolates with nuts, fillings, or mint-flavorings to add a little bit of zing to your fondant. Chocolate chips can also be substituted or added to make it look more decorative. Sliced fruits can also be placed around the entree to give the dish some color.
