Private restocking servers? Yeah...that's really fair.

Better than having them see items 30 seconds before regular users, or making regulars not be able to see R99s, and only letting premium RS them.

If anything like this is implemented, I quit. End of story.

To all of you saying they should cut the price of premium... it's the last thing they'd do. Considering that there are never spots open, people are over willing to pay the price it is now.

Its only a matter of time until premium is available to everyone who wants it.

The feature that would make me buy the service is the ability to safely transfer pets between my own accounts.

I would like to see the NP cap on games not necessarily removed [because I doubt they would do that] but raised. Even being able to get 1500np per game, or to get a payout on 5 games per day instead of 3 would be a nice change, especially for those of us who can't restock.

I'd also like to see premium members get some sort of priority when it comes to support requests or questions to the staff [such as the editorial].

Beyond that, I can't really think of anything that would be both useful and not too much of an advantage from the non paying crowd.

Yeah, I agree with features like this which do not give Premium members advantages over normal ones. They just make life more convenient for Premium members. Unlike suggestions like private restocking servers and increased game payout which will unbalance the game.

Totally agree with both those statements.

I can't think what other feature would induce me to buy Premium *except* the ability to transfer my pets between my accounts without risk of loss.

And it's the sort of feature that it seems appropriate for Premium to have: it makes life a little more pleasant without actually giving a game-playing advantage to Premium members like, say, increased NP-per-game limits or increased-plays-per-day would. (Besides, you think inflation is bad now, just see what would happen if they did something like increased game plays for Premium members).

I guess I'm thinking of Livejournal: you get some nifty features if you pay, and a lot of people seem willing to, but you can still have a perfectly good and usable journal without it.

That said, I frankly think the ability to transfer pets between your own accounts safely is something that should have been instituted for all players a long time ago, as well as a way of linking your accounts so that you can't, even inadvertantly, earn NP on more than one account.

I don't see a 5th pet for Premium members really working: what happens when you stop playing, your pet vanishes? (I guess you could simply move it to another account before quitting.)

Other features that would be nice but not an economic advantage over other players are:

The ability to arrange the sequence of items in the shop or SDB.

A world time clock that converts neotime to other places int the world.

A way to search for a guild by area of interest or a keyword.

A way to browse galleries by searching a keyword.

I would like to be able to give my neohome a name.

I definitely agree with a lot of suggestions made here for premium such as ability to organise SDB how you want to as well as shop. As much as I"d love a private restocking server it would be unfair to unpaying members. Also like the idea of being able to do pet transfers safely.

Sun Apr 10, 2005 9:59 pm

Oh yes, I forgot all about pet transfers! That would be a great enticement to get me to turn to the dark, I mean premium side, heh.

So I want:

1) Half the price
2) Insurance against unfair freezings
3) Premium for all your accounts or per household
4) The ability to set accounts as secondary, thus rendering cheating impossible (though I agree that this should be an option for all players)
5) The ability to move items and pets freely between your own accounts

Oh and I have another one to add:

6) When logging in to neopets I think it would be a good idea to have a seperate username from what is displayed to other people. On some other sites I frequent the arrangement is like this: say my username that everyone can look me up under is Bob. But to log in I have a seperate username, eg Sally, along with my password. This way it is as close to impossible for someone to crack your account as you can get :D

That made me think of something. What if we could have a "Display Name", which we could change. Like mine would be "Mark," so everyone who saw me post on the NeoBoards would see "Mark" posting.

With the sheer number of neopets users though that could get a bit confusing. Plus it would be a bit of a headache for neo when dealing with complaint reports against certain users. Unless the name was displayed alongside your existing username? That would work methinks =)

I think it would be nice though to have the option of changing your log in name to something other than your user name. I'ts been reliably confirmed that assuming the site itself is unhackable that that way no one would be able to crack into your account at all which would mean a lot of people wouldn't be too scared to have expensive stuff in their galleries etc :)

But then everyone would call themselves Jazz (jazz_invincible), or Helen (hrobi).

Well, most people who have Premium would have enough sense not to do that.

In that case, you could just make it so the display name is first, followed by the username a linebreak under it.
