Random amusement: This has sorta broken the clue-series for one of their old plots, NP V2. Previously you could march around and pretend to get the clues again from their solutions page links (well, I liked to do so), at least for the most part, and while there are some missing URLs now, yes, the old "look for the person with weird Ummagine junk in his store" doesn't work, although the shop is still around.

However, there is one thing that's very different on Neopets than in the real world. Say I buy that Wand of the Dark Faerie and immediately regret. I can just turn around and put it in my own shop for the same price, and regret would be gone 1 day later.

Obviously if you accidentally buy a 5 million NP piece of dung, you're out of luck, but that would be where people just need to start learning to pay attention to what they're clicking on. But buyer's remorse can be solved pretty quickly on Neopets.

Yea, it seems like they have taken out all of the items that were previously priced at over 99,999. I cant find a single one.

I don't like the way the auctions work... I think there should be an NST timer on each one... there's nothing I hate more than clicking on something to find it ran out just as I was about to bid. Also, I wonder if it would be possible to add a "search" box to the auctions.

The Auction Genie does for auctions basically what the Shop Wizard does for user shops (but isn't limited to alphabetical subgroups). You can even have it exclude those annoying "Neofriends only can bid" auctions.

I agree with you in disagreeing with TNT's decision to remove the exact ending times of auctions.

They removed the exact closing time to cut down on auction sniping

They might have removed it to cut down on sniping, but I firmly believe that there are some people who have found the coding or something for the auction timer, as they are still sniping EVERY auction they go for within the last second or 2...

Yeah you can still see when an auction ends more or less by checking on which page it is... If it's on the first page you see when you click on auctions then you know it's gonna end in a second or two...

It's not fair even if they couldn't snipe... all auctions in the real world you know the time of. On ebay you can see the time ending. In auctions that you go to, the person says "going once, going twice, sold". Even in auction dinners where you write your bid down, they say, "okay, the bidding ends at 9pm".

Yeah I don't know what they have against auction sniping either. On eBay I do it all the time. Next thing you know they're gonna take measures against restocking :-S

Heh, my mom's an ebay sniper. They did make it harder though when they added proxy bidding. I really don't see what TNT had against it in the first place... it's really an acquired skill like restocking. I understand people were using programs to do it, but this hurt the people doing it legit.

It would be nice if they would have the same thing as ebay too where you can put a maximum bid in and have it auto bid up for you :) Many a time I've tried to get something in auctions that is pretty hts but it is in at a way too low price with a low incremement and it gets sniped by someone else when I'm sitting there prepared to pay much more to get it.

Oops, I ranted x)

I think it'd be a good idea to put max bidding on there too. It'd be a little inconvienient because you'd have to bid early, and all your np would have to be put in limbo all that time, but it would ensure that the person who wants to pay the most for an item would get it. :)

ebay sniping lol. It's fun to watch the last minute mad rush. However poor for the seller... because the price stays low.
