Fredrick looked back at Eithne's eyes and merely said, "I do not know... yet."
"Bevelle..." Fredrick mused after Callet entered. He seemed to be thinking about something. "We're heading to the South rim of the continent. If its the same Bevelle I remember, then in the future we might be in now, it grew, protected by mountains on its North side from the attack and any after affects." He suddenly fell silent, though he pulled a sratch pad out and started drawing the great beast that had destroyed Zanarkand. He was interupted by an armed Al Bhed, who only communicated in grunts and gestures, apparently wanting the man in gray to follow. He followed, sharing no more words with the two girls, down under deck, where the eldest of the Al Bhed was unmasked.
"Tell me what were you doing in Zanarkand with these people," the middle-aged man said in the common language, in an authorative tone. "What if I told you I haven't the faintest idea how I even got there?" Fredrick asked, toying with his answer. "How about you ask the questions?" the Al Bhed proposed. "When was Zanarkand destroyed?" Fredrick asked. "A thousand years ago," came the answer.
"What do you think we were doing the ruins?"
"Probably on a pilgramige with a summoner to destroy Sin temporarily."
"And what is Sin?"
"The monster that has been around since Zanarkand was destroyed."
"Back to why we were in the ruins, minus one summoner."
"I assume the summoner you were with was killed by Sin, yet you five survived."
"Than why don't I remember anything?"
"Because the monster played with your memory."
Fredrick grinned a little. "I see. Does it do that to everyone?" "Yes," the elder solemnly replied. "You never considered Sin could wash five strangers in from a thousand years in the past?" Fredrick nonchalantly asked. "That is impossible," the Al Bhed disagreed. Fredrick turned towards the exit. "I see." He then walked back up to the deck.
