The Wocky is a cat-like Neopet released on 15 November 1999 as one of the original Neopets on the site. Far from being scaredy-cats, Wockies in general are among the bravest and most adventurous of Neopians. They love exploring new territories above all else and are often the first to leap into the unknown, something that less daring Neopets would be more reluctant to do. While the search for hidden treasures is the typical catalyst for their explorations, some Wockies, such as the Wocky Professor and Clara Chatham, pursue adventure for more cerebral purposes (which in Clara's case led to the discovery of a lost civilisation).

Wockies' great agility comes in handy for scaling almost any boundary that comes their way during their adventures. Excellent hearing and an even better sense of smell keeps them alert to lurking dangers, thus ensuring that they are hardly ever taken by surprise.

In the Neopets Trading Card Game, Wockies are associated with the element of Fire.

• As of March 2010, over 7 million Wockies have been created, placing them 15th in popularity. There are also featured in 150 different items.
• The Mallard makes a loud wail when it's frightened, which sounds similar to the Wocky.
• Many people think a Wocky is named after The Jabberwocky, a poem by Lewis Carroll.
• A Mutant Wocky Transmogification Potion was released, but the pet itself cannot be transformed into this colour as of February 2011.
• Before the Neopets 2.0 revamps of all Neopets, Wockies received art updates on November 20, 2000 and March 25, 2004.
