Talk:List of pop culture references in Neopets
Name?[edit]
List of references in Neopets sounds a bit vague... Propose List of Pop Culture References in Neopets, List of Pop Cultural Reference in Neopets, or Pop Culture in Neopets... The third is somewhat ambigious, mind... --Macbeth 17:14, 22 Nov 2006 (CST)
- I Like List of Pop Culture References in Neopets. Shall we go ahead with that? Titles can always be changed later. :D --Jacob 15:26, 23 Nov 2006 (CST)
New Design Proposed[edit]
I was thinking it would be a good idea to categorize all of the references into subject categories, such as movies, literature, etc. This would show how much influence these certain areas have had on Neopets (i.e. all the references Star Wars in movies category), rather than the references be all grouped together in 404's and other sections. --Jacob 15:32, 23 Nov 2006 (CST)
Pirate Day[edit]
Since TNT deems this day worthy of a filter, would you want to create a page for it with a list of filtered words? I have such a list on one of my petpages... It's got a ton of useful info. Let me know. -Cath 13:32, 19 Sep 2007 (UTC)
- My apologies if i sound dumb right now. ;)
- By filter do you mean words typed out in neoboards and neomail being converted into "pirate speak"? If this and other events happen on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, then I suppose there could be enough to warrant a "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" article (similar to other holiday articles we have on the NeoDex). If not, mentions of the piratey changes can be made here, the "pirate" (aka Krawk Island) article, and neomail/neoboards (these mentions will of course still be made if there is a International Talk Like a Pirate Day article). In either case, would be interested in seeing your petpage. --Jacob 16:14, 19 Sep 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed I do. I'm not sure about NM, as I send so few, but Posts on the neoboards are filtered by TNT and some words get changed into piratey forms. By the way, if you try it out, you won't be able to see your own posts be pirate-ified unless you look at them from a side account. Full list on my pet Grugsly's petpage. -Cath 17:07, 19 Sep 2007 (UTC)
- NICE looking petpage! I think the holiday article should link to this when it's created. ;) and it turns out the holiday has been affecting the site since 2003. So I think it's only fair to say...International Talk Like a Pirate Day article is go! --Jacob 19:35, 19 Sep 2007 (UTC)
Music[edit]
I don't know if it counts as a pop culture reference, but I noticed that the Hannah and the Ice Caves music sounds like the Raiders march from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Should I add it? --Likiana 09:04, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds like a pop culture reference to me. ;) --Jacob 07:14, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
