Here's a tip: Go for the petpet nearest to the snowflake. That way, you can get the snowflake also.

Another tip: If he's about to eat a petpet. Go over there and he will eat you instead, you still lose a life, but you can get the bonus for saving all the petpets at the end of the level. If it's your last life, though. focus on getting a petpet in as fast as you can.
