The Spardel is a dog-like Petpet which isn't very intelligent, but makes up for this with the love it gives. The Spardel was designed by former Neopets artist Claire Hummel, it was based off of her pet dog Sparky. After her dog passed away in 2013, TNT created the Sparky petpet (A petpet that resembles an angelic Spardel) as a tribute to her dog.

Trivia

• In the game Neopets Puzzle Adventure, a Spardel Petpet can be used to prevent an opponent from using any Petpets for three turns.
• A dog that strongly resembles the Spardel is seen in Lindsay's audition tape from the TV show Total Drama Island.
