On Adding Acronyms
Be sure when you add an Acronym it's something Neopets uses or users among the community use to describe things. --Jacob 12:39, 9 Jul 2006 (CDT)
Acronyms and Redirections
I've been thinking about this for a while: if what an acronym stands for is featured as an article on the Neodex (e.g. TNT), would it not be more logical to have it redirect to its relevant article rather than this list? --Macbeth 16:22, 19 Jul 2006 (CDT)
- You are right Macbeth. I guess we will have to fix all the redirected pages to their proper articles then. --Jacob 16:36, 19 Jul 2006 (CDT)
Updated appearance
I updated the look a bit to make it more manageable (or so I would think). It's been alphabitized, and I'm in the process of adding abbreviation the current list doesn't have. Any suggestions to how the data should be presented? I, for one, think the ":" after abbreviations should be replaced with a "-", which would look cleaner...yes? --Jacob 01:13, 7 Feb 2008 (UTC)
MSPP
So, I may be wrong, but I'm about 99% sure that the reason MSPP is Malevolent Sentient Poogle Plushie is that it's actually a plushie that is described by the three modifiers, being evil, thinking, and in the general shape of a Poogle, and is the character on the MSPP card. The MSP colour is designed to make a pet (Poogle) resemble said plushie and, therefore, when called MSPP is Malevolent Sentient Plushie Poogle because the species is always the last thing mentioned in a colour name. Stupid minor thing but I just wanted to see what others thought. -Cath 04:02, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- Malevolent Sentient Poogle Plushie for info. Also here. --Jacob 04:24, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- I guess what I'm saying is that that article is wrong. All Neopets are sentient. It's part of the site. What makes the MSPP special is that it's a plushie that happens to be alive and able to think and move. Think Chucky, the evil doll from my childhood. The pet is Malevolent Sentient Plushie Poogle and the TCG card is Malevolent Sentient Poogle Plushie. When you look at the Neopian item naming scheme, the last word is the classification of the item. Plushie Paint Brush vs Paint Brush Plushie. The first is a working PB that paints your pet, the second is a toy. That implies that the MSPP (TCG) required for the avatar is a plushie while the MSPP pet is a Poogle designed to look like the plushie. -Cath 04:53, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- ...I don't think there have been any disagreements that the MSPP is a plushie. Now I'm just wondering what it is we are arguing about. If it's that the wording of certain sentences that need updating, then I suppose that needs to be done. :S --Jacob 14:56, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's called Malevolent Sentient Poogle Plushie. That's it. But since the colour is called MSP, it has to be Malevolent Sentient Plushie Poogle. Destiny 15:15, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- So, I changed it. The reason I thought there was a disagreement is that both this article and the MSPP article say that the MSPP is a Poogle. It is not. It is a Plushie shaped like a Poogle. The MSP Colour was created after the TCG card and in homage to it. -Cath 18:23, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
