Text of intro story

Once, there was a great city full of magical portals, from which adventurers searched the far corners of Neopia for exotic treasures. Your father, a good friend of the king of Portal City, was both a shopkeeper and an adventurer.

Under the king's rule, Portal City was prosperous and bustling with trade. Magical creatures called Faeries helped protect its citizens from danger. Shortly before the king's death, the portals closed and trade ceased. The Faeries vanished. Adventurers were stranded and exotic items became rare and precious. Many shops were forced to close. Nobody knows why the magic left...

When the king died, his eldest son, Jasper, ascended the throne. He and his bride, Queen Sallix, did not try to reopen the portals. Instead, they passed harsh new laws and kept all the wealth for themselves. Desperate for supplies and mystified by the portals' failure, city fold found themselves fighting tyranny.

Your father has left you his shop so that he can seek answers. Fortunately for you, the people of Portal City are in need of both a brave adventurer and a well-stocked shop. Looks like you are about to be kept very busy.

This could take some time

Not sure if anyone else is playing but this could take some work. There's a ton to write about in the game. -Cath 14:24, 9 August 2011 (CDT)

Links to pages?

So, there are a lot of items in this game (naturally) that exist in Neopia and have pages in this wiki... stuff like weewoo feather... should I be linking to the weewoo page or not... I'm concerned because, while descriptive, it could mess up the recognition of the item as a name. I've been linking things like pet species when describing characters but I was unsure about this. -Cath 20:39, 11 August 2011 (CDT)

Well, 'Weewoo' in the phrase 'Weewoo feather' means the small bird Petpet, so then it would be appropriate to link to it. It would be wrong to link, say, 'Krawk' to the article on the Krawk Neopet if it meant the Krawk Petpet, or to link to Pirate if the sentence was describing a profession not a paint colour (e.g. "Jacques is a [[Red]] [[Kyrii]] pirate", not "Jacques is a [[Red]] [[Kyrii]] [[pirate]]").
If you think it would make it easier to pick item names out, you can italicise them (as it looks like you have been doing =)). --Macbeth 04:58, 12 August 2011 (CDT)
