Speculation

I like facts. I know that the Cup will be up in a few days so the issues will become moot but I feel that, as a encyclopedia, we shouldn't necessarily be recording the up-to-the-minute happenings that the Neopets News sites would, including the speculation, which is why I attempted to remove most of it in my rewrite of this article or to at least mark it more clearly as blatant speculation. --Cath 09:05, 9 Jun 2008 (CDT)

Thanks Cath

Thanks Cath, I tried so hard to make it sound really good it's like nobody seemed to appreciate that I started the article. :( --Forbidden 23:21, 9 Jun 2008 (GMT)

I'm not sure if that's appreciation or sarcasm... hooray! you started the article... better? --Cath 17:28, 9 Jun 2008 (CDT)
People, relax - We are all fellow editors here. :) Forbidden, we appreciate that you spend time and effort to create the article - At least it is an initial start of an article for future additions/editing. Regarding the facts within this article, Cath has the point. There are some infos which we are assuming to be true, but not announce by TNT yet. Since it is still not officially release, anything can change. --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 00:44, 10 Jun 2008 (CDT)
:O, I've been here two minutes and people don't seem friendly :/, now you say sarcasm and I believe the "hooray! you started the article" is a very sarcastic, I thought people were supposed be nice here. Or maybe I was fooled! --Forbidden 18:21, 10 Jun 2008 (GMT)
Anyway, I apologise, reading back these messages, I guess I was being out of order and highly irrational. We are all fellow editors and I am sure we both can make the AC3 page good :) --Forbidden 18:25, 10 Jun 2008 (GMT)

I started the article, just to let you know that it may be needing some re-word issues and I will also help for when the Cup eventually starts on the 12th. --ForbiddenRoze 15:04, 7 Jun 2008 (GMT)

Quiz questions

I remember we used to put the quiz questions somewhere, but don't ask me where, so I will just leave them here. Oh, and I bet Macbeth loved question 10.--Demon 14:58, 13 Jun 2008 (CDT)

---

"Are you SURE you're not from pest control?" The Quiggle peers at you suspiciously. "I wouldn't put it past them to send in their own team."

She flips wildly through the papers on her clipboard, then clears her throat. "Let's get started!"

1. Your Neopet is sad! What do you do?

    • Dig out that Blue Ixi Plushie.
    • Play Kacheek Seek.
    • Visit the Merry-go-round again and again and again and...
    • Feed it brains. Zombies like brains.

2. Quick, name the most gourmet food you can think of.

    • Thornberry Brew
    • Grundo Toe Lint
    • *burp* Sorry, what?
    • Bagguss!

3. Pretty strange weather we're having, hmm?

    • Yes.
    • It's not my fault, I swear.
    • Nah, Mortog storms are normal.
    • No, I like sunshine. ^^

4. Do you believe that your team will win the Altador Cup this year?

    • Of course.
    • Is this a trick question?
    • I don't HAVE a team yet.
    • No. Ha! Reverse psychology!

5. How many Petpets can you fit into your Safety Deposit Box before it implodes?

    • Hypothetically?
    • I'm contacting the PPL
    • Oh, at least ninety.
    • None! *saves Petpets*

6. The Soup Kitchen or the Giant Omelette: which do you prefer?

    • *Sniff* I'm actually rich, thank you.
    • I just adore the Soup Faerie!
    • I feed omelettes to my baby Pteri.
    • Jelly World does not exist.

7. What's your favourite Yooyuball strategy?

    • Brute force
    • The Jhudora Trick
    • The Beekadoodle Technique
    • Making lots of goals

8. Has your Neopet ever worn a Tin Foil Hat?

    • Yes.
    • Yes.
    • Yes.
    • It's all the rage, darling.

The Quiggle snorts. "Back when I was a little Quiggle, we all wore Tin Foil Hats. Nowadays, anyone can come along and take over your minds. You just wait and see."

9. How many kinds of Petpets are there?

    • Abominable Snowball, Acko, Airax...
    • Neopets can have Petpets? O_o
    • Let me check my gallery.
    • Two: Meepits and Meepit victims.

10. What is the average velocity of an unlucky Grarrl falling from Faerieland?

    • Uh...
    • What a horrifying idea!
    • Tyrannian or Maraquan?
    • 42 metres per second.

11. Do you feel that this quiz has appropriately addressed whether or not you should wear plaid with polka dots?

    • Yes.
    • Absolutely not!
    • ...I thought this quiz was about the Cup?
    • Oh goody, where can I buy some?

"Okay, that's it. Hand over those answers so that I can get back to business, and you can get on with removing Symols -- I mean, playing Yooyuball."

The previous year quiz is located here. And for completeness, the following are the initial speech and the respond after clicking on "Submit Your Answers" --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 00:44, 14 Jun 2008 (CDT)

---

Initial speech

Good, you're here. When can you get started on the Symol infestation?

The harried Quiggle blinks at you, then frowns. "What? You want to PLAY in the ALTADOR CUP?! Pest control technicians can't play. You have to be an athlete."

She drops her clipboard, dives for it at the same time as you, and manages to whack you in the skull. "What are you doing? It's a clipboard, not a Yooyu! Hmph. Look, since you're certain that you're here to play Yooyuball, you have two options."

"If you know what team you want to sign up for, head over to the Sign-up Station. If you're as confused as you look, I'll fire some questions your way to determine what team is best for you. What'll it be?"

Respond

Hmph... Could be worse... then again...

The Quiggle examines her paperwork, then finally sighs and shakes her head.

"I'm sorry, but you don't qualify for the Defenders of Neopia. You simply don't have the necessary superhero characteristics - wait, sorry, wrong test." She shuffles through more papers. "Ah, that's better."

"This is the team that you should sign up for, according to our Altador Cup Quiz of Persuasion." She hands you a slip of paper, which reads:

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Altador Cup.
Your recommended team is:
(Random team and join button)
Please note: Results are not guaranteed, and may be subject to errors, inaccuracies, lapses, mistakes, falsehoods, untruths, and discombobulations of the highest order. Should you wish to appeal the results, please note that by taking this test you have agreed to binding arbitration in the Faerieland court system. This test is not valid in nonexistent worlds.

"Right, so off you go. No, you don't technically have to sign up for this team, but the quiz is never wrong. It says so in the fine print." She squints at her paperwork. "...I think. If you want to join a different team, please head to the Sign-up Station to fill out the proper forms."

---

Oh, ok. Just for the record, some of the questions are different in German. Question 5 goes like this:

How many trees could a Babaa cut down if you could equip a Babaa with a dangerous, not meeting security standards Virtupets chainaw?

  • Hypothetically?
  • I am calling the PPL.
  • Oh, at least twenty.
  • None! *saves Babaa from evil trees*

Press Release 12/6 Regarding Kiko Lake

Now that every other team has arrived at the Altador Colosseum and the pre-tournament practice sessions are well underway, the big question on everyone's mind is: where is Kiko Lake?!?

No one has seen or heard anything from them, and after initially extending the 9th Day of Relaxing mandatory arrival date an additional 48 hours, the Altador Cup Committee has declared that they will not be able to let Kiko Lake participate in the tournament. The committee has, however, set up an investigation into the team's whereabouts and sent out a search party to try and track them down.

When asked to comment on Kiko Lake's exclusion from the tournament, a committee member said, "There's far too much happening for us to simply hold an open place for them. For example, a schedule of pre-tournament training matches has been put together for the Colosseum. Including Kiko Lake on that schedule could create a situation whereby, if they fail to show up, their opponents will unfairly wind up with less practice matches than the other teams."

"Additionally, waiting for Kiko Lake has required us to hold up ticket sales, since you can imagine what a nightmare it would be to have to give refunds to all those Kiko Lake fans who bought tickets to see a team that failed to arrive. It's quite a shame, since we were really looking forward to having the largest field in the tournament's history. Alas, I'm afraid it was not meant to be..."

Edit

I wrote the Changes part to the article, I hope it is okay, if it needs re-wording, then that's fine. --User:ForbiddenRoze 23:28, 14 Jun 2008 (GMT)

The double round robin was first introduced in Altador Cup II. The only difference is the introduction of 2 more matches to determine the top 4 positions.
I'll re-shuffle the content on this article according to how it looks like in Altador Cup I and Altador Cup II - This is to make it consistent for all Altador Cup articles. --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 01:32, 15 Jun 2008 (CDT)
Yes, I thought you would have to as it didn't look good in a presentation wise. However, is the stuff I wrote satisfactory? --User:ForbiddenRoze 11:49, 15 Jun 2008 (GMT)
Opps... Not 2 more matches - 2 play-offs for all 16 teams. TNT doesn't want players in the bottom 12 teams to sit around waiting for the top 4 teams to emerge.
As for the content, don't worry about it too much. At this point of time, there will be a lot of modifications. The part regarding changes to team members need to split them up - Currently it difficult to get any information out of there. --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 05:58, 15 Jun 2008 (CDT)
Oh, :/, well I added pictures, I hope they're suitable to where they've been placed. --User:ForbiddenRoze 12:29, 15 Jun 2008 (GMT)
