The Catamara is an species of Petpet. Catamara rise to the surface of the water if they smell their favourite food, Negg flakes.

The Catamara has been selected for the Petpet Protection League award twice:

Speck

During the time of Old Maraqua, there was species of Petpet known a the Speck. Shortly after the destruction of Maraqua, all of these Specks were converted into Catamaras. Petpets that were attached to a Neopet during this conversion were not effected by the change. This means that there are still a few users that have a Speck attached to one of their Neopets. Whenever one of these remaining Specks is removed from its Neopet, it is immediately converted into a Catamara.
