A Ruby

The Eelika is an Aquatic Petpet introduced on August 29, 2001. They have to swim in cool water at least once a day, or their skin will dry up and become sore.

Ruby

Before the Eelika became the Eelika, it was known as a Petpet named Ruby. It was forced to flee Maraqua, it's original home, when it was destroyed. With the shop selling them gone, they were temporarily unbuyable until August 29, 2001, when the Rock Pool opened on Mystery Island. The Rock Pool never truly sold Rubies though, as the change took place just before that shop opened.

It is not impossible to still own a Ruby. Any Petpet who was attached to a Neopet at the time of the change will stay the same until it is removed. This means only a very few people still have a Ruby.
