Welcome to the Neodex!

Hi! I've noticed that you have made several edits to the Neodex in the last few days. From your edits, it seems like you are new to the Neodex and to wikis in general. As such, I wanted to give you a few tips:

1. Talk about whether or not we can find certain images should go on the "discussion" page and not on the main article. To get to the discussion page for an article, just click on the "discussion" tab that is right next to the "page" tab.

2. Since we want the Neodex to sound like a real encyclopedia, you should write in the third person perspective. This means that you should generally not use sentences that contain the pronouns "I", "we", or "us".

3. You can use the "Show preview" button that is located to the right of the "Save page" button to see what your edits will look like before you save them. This can allow you to catch any mistakes you made and correct them before you save a page.

For more tips and rules, see the help page. We look forward to you contributions.

P.S.: I want to edit the page for the Neopet species of the Buzz, but it's private!!!!!!! -- This comment was left unsigned by 86.45.101.100 (talk | contribs)
Welcome to Neodex. I need to add a few more comments regarding your edits.
1. Please check the article before saving it. This may look similar to Emeraldosprey's third point, but please make sure the facts are correct. Several changes that you made does not seem to tally with the information TNT provides.
2. This is an encyclopaedia, thus when creating or editing an article, please keep it encyclopaedic, as mentioned by Emeraldosprey's second point. That also means no comments on the main article. Keep all comments/discussions on the discussion page, thank you.
And finally, Neodex is a public encyclopaedia, thus there is no such thing as a private edit.

PLEASE don't make multiple edits to an article within a short time span. It makes things very difficutl for other editors. And err. Welcome to Neodex.--Demon 21:23, 1 March 2009 (UTC) Oh, and please also note you don't have to edit articles section by section. Instead you can click the "edit" link at the top of the page to edit the whole article.--Demon 21:33, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Buzz & Hey

Hey there. Re your comment about the Buzz article - it is currently protected due to a spate of vandalism. If you have any changes you'd like to make, though, you can mention them on the article's talk page :).

Some of our other editors have already flagged this up, but you should make sure your edits match the tone of voice we need from an encyclopaedia. The Neodex is a work of reference, like an encyclopaedia that you'd get out of a library.

Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. You really should think about signing up for an account here, though. You get your own user name, it's free, and it makes your contributions a bit more personal. Your IP address, which is how your edits are currently attributed, is liable to change, you see. A user name is static. --Macbeth 20:54, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and a user name is also unique to an editor, so you wouldn't get someone else using it, as you may when you edit anonymously. --Macbeth 20:55, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Block

For your information, you have been blocked for 2 days for repeated inserting of false information. This includes

No additional penalties will be applied for any "inserting of false information" that may yet be discovered and has taken place in the past (ie before the time stamp of this note). This does, however, not necessarily apply for any other violation that may yet be discovered and took place in the past.

After your blocking has expired, you may file a protest on my talk page or the talk page of any other admin.--Demon 15:32, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Incorrect defaults

From my point of view, you are genuine wanted to help in the development of NeoDex. But unfortunately some of your information are simply incorrect (eg. Chia article). Worst, you make the same mistakes again after we corrected it (eg. Xweetok article). Please check through your edits before saving, otherwise I'll have to implement another cool down period for you. Also, please read our edit summaries on the reason why we changed some of your edits. --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 18:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get the hang of things here, but please listen to what we're saying ;¬). --Macbeth 23:26, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

  • The plural of Bruce is not Bruces.
  • The Poogle looks like a cat.
  • The word Pet Page is written as petpage.
  • The Gelert's original form, the Polypup was not created in the Create-a-Pet Contest.

Lutari

The plural is not Lutaris. It would sound silly, and new Neopets players wouldn't be able to pronounce it properly.
