Site Theme

A sidebar (or sidebar theme) is the bar on the left of the screen of almost every page you visit on Neopets, giving links to all the main sections of the site. The default sidebar is yellow, but players can unlock and use others if they complete the proper actions.

Some sidebars are only for people who participated in certain plots, such as the Altador plot, for which one of the prizes is the Altadorian Constellations sidebar.

Other sidebars are more like avatars, and are given out if you do a specific thing, sometimes only on a specific date. The Halloween sidebar is one of these, being unlocked by being on the site at 11:59:00pm-11:59:59pm on Halloween (31st October).

The Birthday sidebar is currently the only one you can't unlock. You have this sidebar on your birthday (the day you set it when signing up) and on Neopets' Birthday (15th November).

Some "Holiday" sidebars (Valentines, Halloween) can be seen by everyone on that holiday only. They override other sidebars on those days. However, you must unlock these sidebars if you want to use them for the rest of the year.
