On April 1st, 2009, as part of the TNT April Fools Day joke, they randomly changed interest rates on bank accounts.

Actually not random... they were dropped by one point each. The drop was only in the numbers, though, not real. A user still got the NP they should have gotten. :) -Cath 08:15, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

It's now April 2nd in Australia and I'm still getting the lower interest rate. Was it really just for April fools day, or is it permanent. I was at 11.5% and I'm now at 10.5%. -sam.

As I said, you're not actually getting the lower rate. The lower rate said I was supposed to get only 2114 NP, but I got 2315 instead. The change was actually made starting the evening of the 31st and has persisted despite the removal of the other April Fool's stuff. Of course, I can't guarantee that it's just a joke but I'm guessing that if they really meant it, you'd only be getting the lower amound. -Cath 13:57, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
