The Pile of Soot is a Petpet, the result of it being zapped in the Petpet Laboratory. Any Petpet is capable of becoming a Pile of Soot. Its body is essentially the remains of the Petpet, with the only mention of it having a body being its two remaining eyes.
Some users veiw this as a negative effect of the Petpet Laboratory, yet some still try to aquire the result, due to receiving a new avatar. Most users use cheap unwanted Petpets to aquire the result of a Pile of Soot.
Trivia
- Due to the Pile of Soot being a result of the Petpet Laboratory, it's not an item, and Petpets will revert to their original form when they are disowned by their Neopet owner.
