In the Battledome
Honey Potion is the most commonly used bomb weapon in the battledome. It's expensive because of how good a weapon it is and because the level you get it at from Illusen makes it harder to get a steady supply of them to sell. It's definitely worth the price, however, and is still much cheaper than the Ghostkerbomb or Rainbow Clockwork Grundo, which are the next step after the Honey Potion.
Honey Potion is essentially an Illusens Earth Potion with twice as much earth icons. The weapon deals from 13.3 to 16 actual icons of damage. At max, 13 of those are earth and three are physical. The Honey Potion also suffers from the same problems as Illusens Earth Potion. The Leaf Shield, commonly used even by low-level pets, will reduce the Honey Potion to only eight earth icons of damage. For this reason the Honey Potion is usually used only after freezing an opponent to guarantee a solid hit.
Restrictions
Because freezing an opponent and using two Honey Potions the next term became such a common tactic in the battledome, Neopians are now only allowed to equip one Honey Potion.
