The Three are three ghostly apparitions corrupt those in positions of power, especially when they are at their most desperate. They are embodiments of Greed, Ambition, and Revenge and take the spectral forms of a Gelert, a Dark Faerie, and a Skeith. It is unknown which forms correspond to which flaw.

The Three, it was revealed during the Battle for Meridell, corrupted Lord Darigan and encouraged him to go to war and to use the Orb for his own purposes.

Lord Kass was corrupted by The Three to succeed where Lord Darigan had failed. They admitted that Darigan's greed had failed them, and hoped Kass' wouldn't.
