Novia was once a populated town on the edge of the haunted woods. The neopians there lived in releative peace until a mysterious stranger started selling elixers to the townspeople to "fullfill their heart's desires". At first, it achived this but after awhile, the potions transformed them into horribly twisted forms. After putting the blame on one family, they forced two of it's members into the woods (one of which who became "[[Sophie|Sophie the Swamp WItch]]") and burned their house down. The townspeople started to attack eachother but the Mayor managed to assemble order. They called upon "The Spirit of Slumber" to save them. This spirit had lifited the elixer's ill effects, but at a "terrible price".
