A book is a type of item that raises a pet's intelligence. A book raises a pet's intelligence by one level after being read, and a pet can only read each book once. Since books disappear after one use and many users are competetive about having their pet read as many books as possible, some books go for very high prices.
Some items are technicallys books, but are not considered book items because they cannot be used like one. (Ramtors Spellbook, for example, is a weapons.)
